Mandate requires all Mississippi dental practices to have an AED in the office

The Mississippi Dental Board now requires all dental offices in Mississippi to have an automated external defibrillator (AED) onsite. This mandate deadline date is July 1, 2012. The regulation also requires that all licensed dentists and dental hygienists licensed by the State of Mississippi maintain a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The regulation also requires that all licensed dentists and dental hygienists licensed by the State of Mississippi maintain a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Even auxiliary personnel involved in direct patient care will be required to receive the CPR certification within 180 days of employment.

Failure to comply with these requirements could result in revocation of license or other disciplinary action by the Board.
