Jim Tobolski had been looking for the right dentist for some time but just hadn’t “latched onto one.” That is before he started visiting Dr. Edmond Suh’s Supremia Dentistry in Wake Forest, N.C.
When Jim first stepped foot inside the practice, he liked the atmosphere, the look and the friendly staff.
But when he had his first crowns put in using Dr. Suh’s E4D Dentist System, he was blown away.
“It was totally amazing. I had no idea. I was dazzled with the idea of (same-day dentistry) to be quite honest with you,” Jim said after receiving two crowns in one visit and walking out the door a happy patient.
The patient’s perspective
Jim first learned a lot about this CAD/CAM technology after asking Dr. Suh’s team member Heather some questions. He was sitting in the chair watching her work with “this machine” and wondered what in the world she was doing.
“I had never seen anything like this. This was like a ‘Star Wars’ thing for me,” he said.
Heather explained that the technology was taking a digital impression of Jim’s mouth. He was impressed with how fast the process was, and that before long Heather was working with images of his teeth and making sure the design would provide a proper bite.
“I was like you can do all of that on that screen? That’s impossible,” he said.
Jim had been to plenty of dentists and had his share of crown work completed, but he had never heard of getting this work all done in one day.
“So I’m sitting there and Dr. Suh comes in and does his thing, then he moves on to something else,” Jim recalls. “Heather takes over and she’s really skilled at this. She was zooming. It was totally unbelievable. This is amazing. I love it. Here, all of my work was completed (2 crowns) at one time.”
Benefits patient and practice
Jim could not believe he walked out of that same visit with two new crowns, no waiting time to begin eating and no hassles with a temporary that might not fit or feel right.
“It’s not only impressive but that’s the way to go,” he said. “Let’s cut to the chase. Who wants to come back multiple times? I would encourage anyone to do this. It’s a painless procedure.”
Instead of waiting weeks for a crown and returning to the practice, the E4D system allows patients to get it all done the same day or within the same appointment.
“There’s a lot of time involved going back and forth to appointments, not only for me the patient but the practice itself,” Jim said. “This is amazing, it really is. Here I was slam bam, I was done. I was really impressed with the technology.
“This is the way to go. Not only to have it done quickly but to have it done correctly. They concentrate on the bite and there is no pain. It was really a pleasant experience. The fact that it could all be done in one day is impressive. But it’s also a benefit to me because you don’t have to put in a temporary…in the past there always seemed to be a problem with the temp but you just lived with it because you knew you’d be getting the real thing in 2-3 weeks. Here you are ready to rock and roll right away.”
Jim is so impressed with Dr. Suh and his technology that his wife will join him as a patient there.
“They’ve got teamwork there. They all help each other out, and they put you at ease. It’s like a family going in there, and Dr. Suh has all the latest technology and he’s up on everything. It’s a comfort factor. You know you’re going to get good care. I think I’ve found a dentist.”
