Zahn Dental held a course and lecture in Tampa on March 14, 2012. The event was a success with Uri Yarovesky, CDT, the charismatic owner of Hilla Technologies providing the lecture and technical instructions.

His Zahn-exclusive product, Hilla Digital Transfer, an extremely thin, highly esthetic printed ceramic stain that can be applied to all porcelain restorations to mimic internal structures of a natural tooth, opens up a whole new way to stain and glaze. According to a Zahn press release, everyone who attended was impressed with the potential time savings and high quality results easily produced with this new product.

Future 2-hour courses on HIlla Digital Transfer presented by Yarovesky will be offered at Zahn's Melville, N.Y., headquarters on June 20, and in Sacramento, Calif. on July 17 and 18.

The course is designed to help technicians, "make monolithic crowns pop with this highly esthetic and natural looking digital ceramic transfer which simplifies the task of creating incisal characterization in a crown." The Hilla Digital Transfers are just 6 microns thick, and can be applied to any porcelain with either an internal or an external application.

The course instructor, Uri Yarovesky, CDT, is a ceramist, owner and President of Opus One Laboratories, Inc. and owner and President of Hilla Technologies in Agoura Hills, Calif. He is a graduate of L.A.C.C. in Dental Technology, and was the 2011 recipient of the Inventor of the Year award by the NADL and the 2010 recipient of the Outstanding Contributions to the Art and Science of Cosmetic Dentistry award from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has lectured extensively both in the United States and internationally. He is a current member of the AACD, IADFE, ASDA, NADL, CDLA, and ACE.
