The 2022 Midwinter Meeting was a successful return to the live format with numerous innovations on display in the exhibit hall. Here’s a few more highlights from the event.
The return to a live format for the 2022 Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting gave thousands of dental professionals an opportunity to get a firsthand look at the latest technologies and materials for their practices and patients. Here’s a look at several more recent and forthcoming innovations on display during the event.
At the Henry Schein One booth, the latest software on display was Jarvis Analytics for Private Practices which takes this powerful data solution originally designed for group practices and streamlines it to meet the needs of individual practices. The software platform integrates with practice management platforms and provides clinicians and office managers with a wide array of reports. All the data Jarvis presents is easy to sort and filter, and once a trend is noticed, the platform makes it simple to take action with just a few clicks. Whether this is working to reactivate patients without outstanding treatment plans, or evaluating how valuable different insurance plans actually are for your bottom line, Jarvis Analytics for Private Practices is a versatile tool designed to make it simple to turn practice information into action.
The Midmark Dental booth had exciting news to share in multiple places. On one side of the booth, the company was showing off its new partnership with Bien-Air and the new integration with the Bien-Air Nova electric handpiece system. At the other end of the booth was a preview of the company’s forthcoming Midmark Extraoral Imaging System (EOIS), a CBCT solution designed to meet the needs of general dentistry practices. With its compact design and extremely intuitive controls, this 3D imaging system is almost simple enough to be plug-and-play when installed in practices. The company plans to have this new imaging solution available for sale later this year.
At the Sunbit booth, the company was demonstrating the speed and ease of setting up a patient for its Buy Now, Pay Later care financing solution. Designed to help make dental care more accessible to a greater number of patients, the company’s solution aims to make it easier for patients to qualify for financing, and for practices to provide access to that financing. By simply scanning the barcode on a patient’s driver’s license, the Sunbit technology quickly performs a credit check and in seconds returns the amount of financing the patient is approved for. Setting up the payment program takes just a few more steps, and the practice is able to collect the payment quickly.
Zest Dental displayed its new LOCATOR Implant System compatible with LOCATOR R-Tx Abutments. The abutment is said to last longer because of its 30 percent increase in strength, 25 percent greater wear resistance, and a 65 percent reduction in surface roughness. These abutments are designed with a pivot technology that is said to allow for a total of 60 degrees of implant divergence. The new abutments measure at 3.5mm, 3.9mm, 4.4mm, and 4.9mm.
Ivoclar exhibited its Cervitec® F and Cervitec Plus varnishes during the MidWinter Meeting. Cervitec F is a universal protective varnish that combines fluoride, cetylpyridinium chloride and chlorhexidine diacetate in 1 simple easy to apply product. The varnish creates a mechanical barrier to protect exposed dentin and root cervicals from dentinal hypersensitivity. It is best for patients that have a moderate chance of developing caries and bacteria.
Cervitec Plus is a protective varnish that contains a combination of 1% chlorhexidine and 1% thymol for long-lasting, advanced protection. Cervitec Plus is formulated to help ensure the longevity of quality restorations and provides protection against exposed sensitive tooth surfaces. It is best used for patients that need advanced protection and those with a high risk of developing caries and bacteria.
