Why Dental Business Leaders Need Mentors

Great business leaders are not made in a vacuum. They have help along the way. Among his many roles, Robert M. Pick, D.D.S., M.S., is the principal of Progressive Periodontics & Implants, an Associate Professor of Surgery at Northwestern University Medical School, and CEO of the dental consulting firm, The Pick Group. In this clip, Pick explains how having the right mentors is critical to becoming a strong business leader.

“Mentors are critical for a number of reasons. One, they help you elevate. They help you achieve your goals and get to different levels. In my lecture today on Powerful Secrets, it’s actually the second secret: to find the right mentor. I talk about it all the time. I don’t know how I got lucky enough to do it, but finding the right mentors early on allowed me to elevate my game. And then you go to the next mentor, and the next mentor, and the next mentor. All successful people will tell you they had mentors who got them to the next level. It’s imperative to get where you’re going.”
