Dr. Susan Maples is passionate about what she does and that dentists have much greater responsibilities to today’s patients.
There’s more to practicing dentistry than just routine checkups and making sure there are no cavities. More and more dentists around the country are beginning to understand that and that includes Michigan’s Dr. Susan Maples, who is well ahead of the curve.
Dr. Maples has become a huge advocate for the important role that oral health plays in the overall health of the patient. In her practice, she believes it is her role to discuss topics with the patient ranging from HPV to cardiovascular issues and everything in between. The important point, though, is that Dr. Maples talks about these topics with her patients and it all starts with the health of the mouth.
During a recent Google Hangout, I had the chance to talk to Dr. Maples about this and how she bridged the gap between the medical and dental communities with the way that she practices.
Additionally, we discussed her strong belief in the good works being done by the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH) and why she believes so strongly in the organization’s goals.
Dr. Maples is passionate about what she does and that dentists have much greater responsibilities to today’s patients. Watch our exclusive interview below to learn more and hear why she believes her way of practicing dentistry is the way of the future and should be the way of the present for all dental professionals.
