What OTC Dental Products Do You Recommend to Your Patients?

Dentists and hygienists do a lot to care for the oral health of their patients, but the real work of maintaining a healthy oral environment needs to be done at home between visits.

The basic protocols for caring for teeth and gums are well established, but choosing the best toothbrush, toothpaste, and other over the counter (OTC) home care products can be daunting for patients. In every category of home oral care product there are numerous brands, and many of those brands offer multiple options from which patients must choose.

As trusted oral health professionals, dentists and hygienists are often relied upon to provide guidance in this area. Knowing what type of toothbrush, floss, or mouthwash is best for each individual is important, and a good recommendation from a dentist or hygienist can provide the right motivation to get a patient more engaged with maintaining his or her oral health.

To help with this, Dental Products Report® is currently conducting the 3rd annual OTC Products Survey where we're asking dental professionals to share which brands of direct-to-consumer oral care products they most often recommend to patients.
