vhf Presents New E4 Wet-Dry Milling Machine During 2023 Chicago Midwinter

The new machine is designed to boost digitization and enable many practices to efficiently and economically enter same-day dentistry.

vhf camfacture AG launched its new E4 compact milling machine for the wet and dry machining of blocks during the 2023 Chicago Midwinter Meeting. This machine is designed to boost digitization and enable many practices to efficiently and economically enter same-day dentistry.

The E4 offers users maximum freedom—it can be combined with a preferred intraoral scanner and the materials are suitable for the individual patient case. Along with the recently launched E5, the E4 is part of the company’s EASE Class.

The E4 is free from compressed air, features a low weight of 28 kg, and its compact housing requires only slightly more floor space than an A3 sheet of paper, according to a press release from vhf. The machine is operated via the provided DENTALCAM software without any additional licensing costs.

The unit is equipped to wet grind blocks made of glass ceramics or composites with ceramic content. With its PUREWATER technology, no grinding additives are required, which means trouble-free disposal and lower running costs, according to the company. The range of indications for the E4 can be expanded by using an optional dry tank instead of the liquid tank. With this method, materials such as zirconia, PMMA, and other composites can also be dry milled.

The E4 also operates completely without compressed air, meaning it does not require an external connection for compressed air or a built-in compressor. This feature reportedly helps save further costs and allows more flexibility in the placement of the machine. This freedom from compressed air is made possible by vhf’s patent-pending AIRTOOL. The turbine blades of this tool generate a strong airflow due to the high speeds of the high-frequency spindle, which keeps the workplace free of chips and dust.

The E4 will be on display during the International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany beginning on March 14.
