Town & Country Dental Studios is celebrating its 60th anniversary in business. The dental lab was started in 1962, and today supports dentists across the New York Metropolitan area, from Manhattan (town) and beyond (country).
Town & Country was opened by Barry Lampert, who served as a member of the Dental Laboratory Department in the US Army. Lampert and his partner at the time set up shop in Hewlett, New York, and later moved to Freeport, New York in 1968.
Over the last 60 years, Town & Country Dental has participated in the introduction of products such as PFM alloys, Captek, Empress, Emax, Procera, and the SIMPL Implant Restorative System, according to a press release from the company. Town & Country was also an early adopter of digital production, offering in-house scanning and milling systems.
The lab now spans over 15,000 square feet and, along with Lampert, includes dedicated dental technicians and staff, many of whom have been with the company for decades. These include Lamperts’s 2 sons, David and Stephen, who have been with the company for over 30 years.
“It’s a true gift to work with family, not just mine, but many of our staff are also related to each other. This offers a comfortable work atmosphere and brings me much joy and a sense of accomplishment and pride” Lampert said according to the press release.
