The Pride Institute's "Best of Class" Technology Awards represent an initiative to promote innovation in new and existing dental technology companies, providing a means through which the organization can educate those in the dental profession to use technology more effectively.

This year's honorees span a wide range of categories and uses, from the business-oriented to the clinical, such as Philips Sonicare Airfloss.

The Philips Sonicare AirFloss has been specially designed to address this problem by increasing ease of use while maximizing interdental plaque removal and ultimately helping to improve gum health. During Philips’ consumer testing, 86 percent of patients reportedly found AirFloss easier to use than string floss.  Philips Sonicare AirFloss has also proven to remove up to 99 percent more plaque in-between teeth than brushing with a manual toothbrush alone.

“What's unique about AirFloss is that it's a completely new category for oral care,” says Richard Nagelberg, DDS.  “It works by using a rapid burst of air and microdroplets that thoroughly fill up the interproximal area and force biofilm out. Patients will love the ease of use, and I believe it will help increase compliance with interdental cleaning.  Philips Sonicare Air Floss is a game changer.”
