Planmeca introduces new CAD/CAM systems

The new PlanMill 50 S milling unit and the PlanCAD Premium software will be available in a new packaged offer—the Planmeca FIT Plus.

Planmeca announced its new CAD/CAM products—the Planmeca PlanMill® 50 S 5-axis mill and the Planmeca PlanCAD® Premium design software for creating dental prosthetics. Together with the Planmeca Emerald™ S intraoral scanner, these products offer a new solution—the Planmeca FIT® Plus. This complete system offers clinicians an entirely digital workflow.

The Planmeca PlanMill® 50 S is designed to produce restorations with lab-quality esthetics while addressing the industry’s need to mill a variety of materials, including zirconia, glass ceramics, PMMA, wax, and Ivoclar Vivadent’s IPS e.max®. The mill features a high-speed spindle and automatic tool changer for 12 tools to keep it operating at full capacity. The unit also has the ability to mill discs and blocks and can be used wet or dry.

Planmeca PlanCAD Premium is ideal for clinicians in a wide range of indications, including crown and bridge designs, wax-ups, removable partials, and complete dentures. It is an open system platform, which allows users to import and export a variety of file formats and import data from other scanners.

“These powerful new solutions provide clinicians versatility, giving them the ability to perform more procedures in-house and elevate patient care,” said Ed McDonough, president of Planmeca USA. “By taking a bold step in implementing the Planmeca PlanMill 50 S and Planmeca PlanCAD Premium software to their digital workflow, clinicians will experience optimal efficiencies and enhanced productivity, ultimately resulting in a greater ROI for their practices.”

Both the Planmeca PlanMill® 50 S and the Planmeca PlanCAD® Premium are available for order as separate units or as the Planmeca FIT Plus system, which includes the Emerald S intraoral scanner. The new premium Planmeca FIT offer is available for shipment starting on November 15. Both systems come with hands-on training, education, and support through the Planmeca Digital Academy.
