Pearl Receives Second Patent for Second Opinion Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) company Pearl has been granted another patent for its chairside technology, Second Opinion®. Second Opinion works by utilizing AI to detect any pathologies in digital dental imaging, helping clinicians get a real-time look at any issues that may exist in the patient’s mouth. Pearl’s technology harnesses machine learning to inform Second Opinion, using data to detect a wide variety of pathologies and issues that may present in the patient, per a press release from the company.

Pearl has received 10 patents now for its dental AI technology. The current patent, second of two granted to Second Opinion, is listed as “Systems and methods for automated medical image analysis.”

This patent was granted in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, listed as U.S. Patent No. 11,676,701.
