Pearl Granted Patent for AI-Powered Claims Processing Tech

Pearl announced that the United States Patent Office has issued a patent for their “Computer Vision-Based Claims Processing,” a technology designed to process dental insurance claims.

Pearl introduced Claims Review^® and Pearl Protect^® to help assuage carriers’ claims adjudication issues, according to a press release from Pearl.

These technologies use a computer vision machine learning algorithm to validate insurance claims based on radiographic claims evidence. It cross-references the findings with the claimed treatment codes and if the AI diagnosis aligns with a carrier-approved treatment, the claim is automatically accepted. Otherwise, the claim will be routed to a human claims examiner for review.
