Ultradent has launched the fully redesigned VALO X broadband curing light with new features such as a 12.5-mm lens and custom LED chips. This curing light has been redesigned to provide clinicians with durability and a more powerful cure. VALO X has Standard and Xtra Power modes, black light, and white light. It can be used both corded and cordless.
Why This Curing Light Stands Out
The light’s 1-button activation sports a user interface with an accelerometer so users can cycle between the light’s power and diagnostic modes with the push of a button. This helps reduce midprocedure fumbling and the likelihood of dropping the light. The VALO X light also comes with 5 accessory lenses. A simplified, low-profile design enables the light’s head to reach posterior restorations with ease. Combining all of these features and the accelerometer creates a curing light that is customizable without sacrificing durability and power. The new VALO X curing light is said to have improved curing depth, beam collimation, and thermal management. It’s crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum for improved thermal management, LED longevity, and durability.
Invisalign Virtual Care AI is a remote monitoring solution with new artificial intelligence (AI)–assisted capabilities designed to streamline workflows for clinicians and their staff. Invisalign Virtual Care AI lets doctors remotely monitor Invisalign treatment progress based on their preapproved clinical settings, and AI-assisted algorithms are calibrated to each doctor’s ClinCheck treatment features.
Why This Monitoring System Is Worth a Look
Virtual Care AI is integrated with the Align digital platform, which includes Invisalign, Doctor Site, ClinCheck treatment plans, and the My Invisalign App. No separate portal or login is required because remote monitoring is managed directly on the Invisalign Doctor Site. Similarly, patients can use their My Invisalign App without the need to download a separate app for remote monitoring. Its AI-assisted Photo Capture allows for the easy capture of clinically relevant photos via the My Invisalign App for patients, and the AI-assisted Automatic Assessment measures and highlights the size of aligner spaces based on doctor settings. It also features AI-assisted automated notification, which guides patients to either advance to the next aligner stage if their treatment is tracking well or to stay in their current stage for longer.
DM Insights is designed to enhance workflows in dental and orthodontic
practices. With DM Insights, clinicians can measure and improve the quality of treatments with a percentage breakdown of patients who are experiencing the same issue by tooth, aligner number, or scan number. The platform gives clinicians a benchmarking tool for comparing practice clinical data with the average results of practices, a significant indicator of performance. Users are able to view practice activity, clinical data, patient adherence, lead engagement, and benchmark performance, all from 1 platform. DM Insights helps practices drive treatment decisions, refine workflows, and grow.
Clinician’s Choice has a new metal dual-arch impression tray, the Quad-Tray Ultimate Posterior. This tray, which is designed to prevent impression distortion, is made of lightweight and ultrarigid aluminum. It features a 0.07-mm thick Ultra-Lock™ mesh that allows for secure fusion of the preparation and opposing impression. The distal bar is 2.6 mm thick to prevent impingement at the retro molar pad, and the distal ends are rounded to provide the right fit the first time. The tray also features low sidewalls to prevent palatal impingement and axial roll of the tray wall. The arch is wide, customizable, and easily accommodated to fit the right shape. As an added bonus, the tray is recyclable. This dual-arch impression tray is rigid yet maintains the kind of flex necessary for a good impression.

Within seconds, the needle is compressed into a tiny ball and released from the device as a safe sphere of metal at the tip of the syringe.
The Illumina device uses LEDs in both the infrared and red spectrums. These LEDs are designed to increase circulation and boost gum health, whereas non-UV blue lights increase the power of whitening gels such as the StarAligners Whitening Foam & Aligner Cleaner that is provided in the Illumina kit. Near-infrared light is said to slow and potentially reverse receding gum lines, and mitochondrial enzymes absorb photons from light to increase adenosine 5′-triphosphate energy. The Illumina device offers 3 wavelengths of light for its users: 450-nm blue for teeth whitening, 600-nm red for gum health, and 850-nm near-infrared for enhanced tooth movement.
