Renamel BULKfill

Designed to provide a packable, sculptable, and polishable option for posterior restorations, Renamel BULKfill is the newest addition to Cosmedent’s Renamel line of dental composites. The material is indicated for 1-step placement and reportedly can be placed more quickly than amalgam. Renamel BULKfill is available in 5 shades (A1, A2, A3, A3.5, and B1), and the shades are said to not be too translucent so they can provide an esthetic match to the shade of the restored tooth’s surface.

Why This Composite Stands Apart

Described as the “amalgam of composite,” its excellent handling properties allow it to be placed and precontoured in 1 layer with complete occlusal contour before polymerization. The material can be cured in increments of up to 4 mm with a 20-second cure time using an LED curing light or 40 seconds with a halogen light. Additional shades B-Zero, C3, and D2 will be released.

DC-Air™

The DC-Air is a true wireless x-ray scanner that utilizes direct conversion technology for greater native sharpness. In addition, DC-Air holders incorporate a patent-pending design that is said not to add any bulk to the sensor’s profile in the mouth. Coupled with the sensor’s thin profile, it is designed to offer patient comfort and easy positioning. DC-Air is constructed with homogeneous internal components that make it significantly more durable. It has an IP67 rating and will withstand the rigors of daily use.

Why This Sensor Is Worth A Look

It is said to be the only sensor on the market to adopt the latest Bluetooth technology standards for rapid, reliable image transmission, eliminating the primary point of failure associated with other sensors: the wire. The sensor converts x-rays directly into an electronic signal (direct conversion), a technology that provides greater native sharpness compared with other sensors that must convert x-rays to visible light before creating an image.

[Implant Driver Set]

Implant Buddy Driver Kit

This driver kit is designed to make implant procedures more convenient, holding both long and short drivers that are color-coded for visibility. Its tapered driver tips offer a strong implant screw connection, and the thumb knob fits directly into torque drivers. The kit fits short drivers up to 23 mm (shaft length of 16 mm) and long drivers up to 39 mm (shaft length of 32 mm). It also includes a Straight Screwdriver (Straight Systems, Straumann), a Dynamic Angled Access Driver, and a UniGrip Driver (Nobel Biocare), among others. The entire unit can be sterilized.

The Wingers I.B. (Integrated Barrier) provides a sensor holder already inside a comfort-padded, elastic, seamless infection control barrier. This design reduces clinical setup time to obtain a radiological image from approximately 60 seconds to 5 seconds with an average cost savings over purchasing 3 separate items of up to 20%. The seamless, elastic barrier eliminates microholes that may occur in the heat-sealed seams of plastic film sensor barriers. The Wingers I.B. fits all # 2 sensor holders on the market. Each bag of 60 pieces includes a free, sterilizable aimer ring and bar.

[Translation Device]

Pocketalk Plus

Pocketalk Plus is designed as a resource to help patients and clinicians overcome language barriers. The device is designed to provide instant translation for 82 languages and features a large screen that is readable up to 6 ft away, as well as a speaker and noise-canceling microphone. Pocketalk Plus provides audio feedback in the native language; an integrated camera can translate written words. The device includes a built-in data connection, eliminating the need for Wi-Fi, and it is small enough to fit comfortably into a pocket. Additionally, the Pocketalk Plus can be quickly sanitized using a standard alcohol wipe.

This new Voice over Internet Protocol system with 2-way text messaging is designed for dental practices. The system is a new way for office managers and front desk staff to drive appointment scheduling and productivity while minimizing time on the phone. These applicators are biodegradable and compostable, come in recyclable packaging made from sustainable materials, and require less energy to produce than petroleum plastics.

Artex CR Gold

Produced as a special edition of 1000 units, the Artex CR Gold articulator features the same functionalities as the standard Artex CR, but with a stylish look featuring gold and carbon black coloring. A universal diagnostic and therapeutic device in Arcon design, the articulator features a reproducible centric system said to ensure the safe start and end position of each movement. The articulator can detect defects of less than 20 µm, allowing technicians and clinicians to design and fabricate restorations for ideal function. The Artex CR Gold is lightweight, stable, and ergonomic for accuracy and efficiency.

[Nasal Hood]

Double Hood Scavenger System

This nasal hood is a fully autoclavable scavenger breathing circuit designed to provide better delivery and monitoring. Its soft, single-use scented Double Nasal Hoods offer an excellent seal and lower profiles, giving dental professionals better sightlines into the oral cavity. The device’s oral exhalation valve is said to increase patient breathing comfort. Its outer hood sits closer to the patient’s face, increasing the scavenging efficiency of exhaled gases. The system also features a universal fit with other double scavenging circuits, allowing for use with their existing systems. Air Technique’s Double Nasal Hoods are available in adult and pediatric sizes with several scents.

[Implant Tray]

Knockout Tray™

Fabricated using recycled materials, the Knockout Tray is designed for capturing impressions for implant restorations. It features a unique transparent design and tabs that are easy to pop out to create space for the implant coping. The tabs are easily removed from the area where implants have been placed using the end of a mirror handle, and the tray is available in medium and large sizes.

[Whitening System]

Invisalign Professional Whitening System

Align’s new whitening system utilizes Ultradent’s Opalescence PF whitening formula. It is said to deliver optimal whitening outcomes and comes from the patients’ desire to whiten teeth during Invisalign treatment. This whitening formula can be used for both Invisalign clear aligners and Vivera retainers for patients who wish to whiten their teeth as they straighten their smile. The Invisalign Professional Whitening System is said to be easy to use whether in the office or at home supervised by a dentist. It will be commercially available starting in 2022.

[Boil-Out / Polymerization Unit]

WAPO-EX 8 PLUS

The WAPO-EX 8 PLUS enables the automatic boil-out of up to 8 flask halves or the polymerization of up to 8 flasks in a clamp. The relevant parameters for this new combination boil-out and polymerization unit can easily be viewed on the touch screen. The input can be made intuitively. The system allows users to adjust numerous parameters and options (such as a week timer) to their individual requirements, a touch screen for fast and easy operation, a quick exchange of both functions (boil out, polymerization), easy to clean, and no need for tools.

[Practice Software]

mConsent Insurance Verification

mConsent Insurance Verification is designed to streamline the verification process by providing comprehensive verification details on demand that optimize practice efficiency, productivity, and revenue. It enables practices to verify insurance independent of server-based software from any location. Patients can complete insurance forms ahead of their appointment with mConsent’s web-based platform. The platform is currently integrated with more than 178 insurance payers, including major preferred provider organization and Medicare providers. In addition, mConsent is said to easily integrate with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, and other practice management software.

[Sintering Furnace]

Programat® S2

The Programat S2 offers shorter processing times than the previous model, as well as new calibration options to enhance productivity. The unit can sinter at temperatures up to 1600 ºC, offering the ability to process crowns fabricated with IPS e.max ZirCAD in as little as 75 minutes. The redesigned furnace features a color touchscreen and a graphical user interface designed to make the furnace easier to use. The unit comes preprogrammed with sintering cycles for all zirconia materials from Ivoclar Vivadent, and additional options are available. A blue indicator displays when the unit enters the cooling phase. Progress can also be monitored using the Programat app.
