The SOL LCD 3D is a compact printer that is said to incorporate new technologies to deliver increased speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. It can produce dental models, provisional crowns and bridges, occlusal guards, surgical guides, and more. According to the company, the unit prints at 3 times the speed of standard stereolithography apparatus printers and has 5 times the UV power of previous models to match or exceed that of digital light processing printers. It reportedly offers a smooth surface finish with predictable and accurate printing over its 128 × 80 × 140-mm build plate and features the precision of 49-µm pixels and the capability to print at 4.5 cm per hour.

Designed for experienced users and those new to 3D printing, the SOL offers a user-friendly workflow with no calibration requirements. The printer’s bundled artificial intelligence software includes more than 100 precalibrated resin profiles for simple setup; instant access to resin and firmware updates; and accurate, repeatable results. An open system, it is designed to work with almost any dental CAD/CAM solution to make the printer easy to integrate into existing and new digital workflows. It also features touch screen operation, a fail-safe vat frame, a swivel-hinged UV filter hood, and an easy-to-remove build plate.
Milled from a single block of aluminum and designed for esthetic appeal and functional usability, Tray by Harvest is a mixing palette that features a 12 × 7.5-in slab of black pearl glass for mixing ceramics. Optional hydration strips are anchored in a water reservoir hidden beneath the mixing slab. The inside of the aluminum lid features black smartphone glass, and when combined with a special stand, it is designed to work as a whiteboard for capturing notes while working on the woods. The water reservoir is machined directly into the base of the tray.

[ Block-Out Material ]
A uniquely designed, cellulose-based material that is said to require no mixing, curing, setting, or working time, Preat Perma Block is a block-out material. It can be used on undercuts during impression procedures. It can be placed immediately and comes in a single-dose cartridge. The Perma Block contours to the shape of the instrument. It is also heavy enough that it will not move or displace during the process, allowing for efficiency, accuracy, and reduced chairside time.

[ CAD/CAM Design Software ]
Designed to enhance digital CAD/CAM possibilities, exocad’s PartialCAD 3.0 Galway is a module for removable partial denture frameworks, with new and advanced features for the design of high-quality partial dentures. [ Intraoral Scanner ]
Designed in collaboration with Studio F. A. Porsche, this wireless intraoral scanner provides mobility and a seamless user experience. Weighing just 240 g, it is said to be one of the lightest and most compact scanners on the market. The CS 3800 features a 16 × 14-mm field of view and a 21-mm depth of field to make scanning easier and faster. Compatible with the CS ScanFlow software, the scanner is indicated for a wide range of applications, including restorations, orthodontics, sleep devices, and dentures. The CS 3800 gateway is an open ecosystem, allowing images to be exported to various platforms or models.
[ Mixing Instruments ]
Dental Creations’ new Sassy Spatulas are made of high-grade polypropylene, are latex free, and autoclavable up to 270 0F. The 7.5-in-long ergonomic handle makes mixing easy for cements, porcelains, acrylics, and other materials used in dental offices and laboratories. Sassy Spatulas come in pink or blue. [ Sintering System ]
Designed to provide a rapid solution for fabricating esthetic zirconia restorations, the Ceramill DRS High-speed Zirconia Kit consists of the Ceramill Therm DRS sintering furnace and Zolid DRS material. With sintering completed in just 20 minutes, the system is designed for efficiency, and the furnace features programs for different indications. A high-performance heating element provides the power for the accelerated sintering process, and the furnace itself features a slim design. The Zolid DRS material meets the characteristics of a Class 5 zirconia, and results of in vitro studies show the 20-minute sintering cycle does not affect the material’s physical properties.

[ Bristle Brushes ]
These bristle brushes are designed to eliminate premature failures and costly repairs in handpieces due to dust and debris entering through openings and collets. They work by covering the opening of an exposed collet with a small metal shield to prevent debris from reaching the internal workings of the handpiece motor. The Chuck Saver brushes feature high-quality natural bristles, which are said to be ideal for cleaning and polishing denture acrylic, cleaning interproximal spaces after denture deflasking, and general laboratory or office polishing applications. [ Smile Design Software ]
3D Smile Design is a chairside solution for dentists to create facially guided mock-ups in-office within minutes, making the digital workflow simpler and reliable. It enables dentists and dental labs to collaborate on patient cases directly from the software, improving communication and turnaround times. Treatment can be initiated with more accuracy by incorporating intraoral scans, 3D facial scans, and CBCT scans to predict and visualize the result before starting treatment. Unlimited 3D Smile Designs can be exported as open projects for 3D printing and manufacturing with any CAD/CAM software.
[ Zirconia Discs ]
Ivoclar Vivadent’s versatile IPS e.max ZirCAD LT discs are now available in the following 9 additional shades: A3.5, A4, B3, B4, C1, C3, C4, D3, and D4. The new shades are available in 3 thicknesses—14, 18, and 25 mm. The extended portfolio is designed to make it easier to select a disc that matches the thickness and desired shade of the clinical case at hand. The IPS e.max ZirCAD LT discs offer high mechanical strength (1200 MPa) and are ideally suited for the fabrication of stable multiunit framework structures. The material can also be used for minimally invasive single-tooth restorations, and the restorations can be completed using a variety of techniques, including monolithic, infiltration, partial-coverage, and full-coverage veneering procedures.
