This new campaign will help recent dental students and graduates better understand just what dental service organizations are, and if these groups would be a good fit for their future career path.
Non-profit trade group, The Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO) has taken a significant step towards bolstering the dental workforce by launching the innovative "DSO Difference" campaign. This initiative is aimed at assisting dental school students and recent graduates as they navigate their entry into the workforce and explore collaborative opportunities with Dental Support Organizations (DSOs), according to a press release from ASDO. The "DSO Difference" campaign is designed to provide vital information and resources regarding the advantages of partnering with DSOs for practicing dentists. Simultaneously, it equips students with job search tools to facilitate informed career choices. The overarching goal of the campaign is to stimulate growth in the dental workforce, which will in turn provide high-quality care for more patients across the country.
ADSO President, Dr Sulman Ahmed, expressed the organization's vision, saying in the press release, "ADSO's goal is to inspire and empower the next generation of dentists to find their most fulfilling careers so that quality dental care is available and accessible to everyone who needs it. Partnering with a DSO provides dentists critical business management and support for non-clinical operations, allowing new dentists to concentrate on their passion for helping patients. The partnership also provides a great financial opportunity through various equity or ownership programs, where dentists can often partake in the economic upside of a larger organization. We believe this is vitally important to attract and retain dental professionals."
The "DSO Difference" campaign will serve as an educational platform for students and recent graduates, equipping them with the necessary tools to enter the dental industry and begin their professional journey. The campaign's dedicated website, www.DSODifference.org, will offer recent graduates: a matchmaker tool, to match users to their ideal career; video testimonials that will allow practicing dentists to share their stories and perspective on how joining a DSO has been beneficial for them; tips on the best questions to ask during the job hunt; and any additional information that students and recent graduates might find relevant on DSOs.
ADSO's Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Smith, highlighted the myriad benefits that DSOs provide to new dentists, including competitive compensation and benefits, non-clinical and financial support, mentorship opportunities, continuing education, and paths to ownership. Smith says in the press release, "The goal of the DSO Difference campaign is to educate dental school students and recent graduates about the opportunities inherent in partnering with a DSO and provide them with the tools they need to find their ideal career path. Ensuring practicing dentists have fulfilling careers is essential to addressing workforce shortages and improving access to quality dental care."
As the dental industry grapples with workforce challenges, the "DSO Difference" campaign is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of dental care by empowering the next generation of dentists and fostering their collaboration with DSOs.
