Designed to eliminate the need to match the shade for posterior restorations, CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 Universal composite is a single-shade solution that can streamline restorative workflows and save time in the operatory. The material reportedly exhibits ideal handling, polishes easily, and demonstrates optimal wear resistance properties.

How this single-shade composite works:

The composite material is able to match the shades of surrounding teeth due to its specific translucency as well as the manufacturer’s Light Diffusion Technology that is said to diffuse light in a manner similar to the natural tooth structure it is designed to replace. Once placed, CLEARFIL MAJESTY ES-2 reportedly blends so well with the preparation that margins are close to invisible.

[ On The Cover ] DENTIQ

The DENTIQ 3D printer is designed for chairside use and reportedly offers features and capabilities that can meet the needs of practices new to 3D printing and those already experienced with the technology. The printer features auto-calibration and is compatible with more than 100 printing resins. Capable of printing with both the 385 nm and 405 nm wavelengths, the LCD printer features a build volume of 120 x 68 x 140 mm, with an XY resolution of 47 μm, and slice thickness of 30 to 150 μm.

The DENTIQ is designed to provide premium print quality with a simplified learning curve for new users. The system features remote diagnostics and simplified component replacement. TheraBase is a dual-cured, calcium- and fluoride-releasing, self-adhesive base/liner. It contains MDP, chemically bonds to tooth structure, and utilizes THERA technology. It is radiopaque allowing for effective identification on radiographs. Its dual-cure ability ensures the material will cure even in deep restorations where light cannot reach.

Maxx Chairman

The Maxx Chairman chairside milling machine is designed for 1-day dentistry and built for fast, accurate milling. This milling unit does not require compressed air and features a noise shield for silent operation. Its AC Servo motor enables stable and precise control, and its 2 spindles and automatic tool changer are said to make same-day fabrication easy. The Chairman can reportedly fabricate crowns in less than 15 minutes, and it is able to mill glass ceramics, hybrid resin, zirconia, and PMMA materials. The 5-axis milling machine features a high-frequency spindle, with a maximum power of 0.5kW and 100,000 rpm.

Keystone Industries and Henkel have developed KeyModel Ultra, a next generation of 3D dental modeling resin designed to offer a new level of accuracy, detail, and speed. The resin is formulated for rapid printing and fast post curing and is also designed to reduce peel forces, which increases print accuracy. The new resin is said to print faster than other materials, offers a smoother finished surface, and does not require release agents for thermoforming aligners and other devices. Its optimal detail ensures that all thermoformed devices fit perfectly, and it can be carved without chipping to adjust the model when needed.

Provicol QM Aesthetic is a zinc oxide-based transparent noneugenol temporary cement that secures provisional crowns and bridges without affecting the overlying color of the restoration. This zinc oxide-based formula promotes anti-bacterial properties as well as an ideal adhesion and strength with a semi-elastic consistency that allows for easy clean up. Distinct from resin-based temporary cements, zinc-oxide cements do not permanently bond to composite core build-ups, therefore simplifying the removal of temporaries.
