The new PrograScan One intraoral scanner is powered by 3Shape and is meant to support chairside restorative workflows. The PrograScan One is designed to integrate with the PrograMill One milling machine to create an entirely digital workflow. It is also designed to fabricate restorations that fit the patient while enhancing comfort for all parties. PrograDesign software connects the PrograScan One and PrograMill One to promote chairside, 1-day visits for patients. The intraoral scanner is available now as the PrograScan One and PrograScan One+. The PrograScan One+ uses wireless scanning technology.

The scanning is said to be highly accurate while producing high-quality digital impressions. It utilizes artificial intelligence to remove soft tissue artifacts from digital impressions and provides optimal treatment results thanks to its high-accuracy scanning. The PrograScan One also features a caries diagnostic aid for early detection of suspected surface caries and makes it easier to identify tooth erosion before symptoms occur.
The XiP printer joins the NXE 400 and NXD 200 in Nexa3D’s 3D printing offerings. The new desktop printer is designed with a smaller footprint at a smaller price point. The XiP can work best in a busy commercial environment, making it a good fit for a variety of labs and practices. Based on Nexa3D’s proprietary lubricant sublayer photo-curing (LSPc) technology, the XiP aims to combine a small footprint with high throughput for production-grade applications.
What makes this 3D printer tick:
It features a large build volume, 3.8-L print volume, high resolution, and 50 μm/100 μm/200 μm layer thicknesses. It also relies on a smart resin cartridge and a toolless vat system. Smart feed resin delivery allows for touch-free material loading and intelligent polymer levels in the vat to maintain constant levels, which is said to enable greater print optimization. These features are meant to make the 3D printing workflow faster, easier, and more ergonomically efficient.
Designed specifically for dental clinicians, the ZIPRO is a top-down DLP 3D printer that works with proprietary ZIPROS software to enable professionals to easily upload a file, orient a part, and add automatically generated support structures before slicing and sending the 3D model to the Wi-Fi–enabled ZIPRO printers.

The ZIPRO Dental 3D printer is equipped with a 1920 × 1080p light projector that precisely controls ultraviolet light intensity to print crispy clean layers, as thin as 40 mm. Its automatic leveling system ensures each layer is uniform before the light is projected onto the slurry. The INNI-CERA zirconia slurry is fully biocompatible and offers an optimal flexural strength of up to 900 Mpa, meeting the requirements for extensive or long-span dental restorations. INNI-CERA zirconia is also A2-shade colored to provide a natural-looking base before further staining to match the patient’s natural discoloration.
The third generation of Aurident’s Aoralscan features a new design, fast scan speed, high accuracy, powerful artificial intelligence processing, intuitive communication, and a 3-year warranty. It can be applied for general restorations, implants, and orthodontics. The lightweight scanner has 1-button control, automatic antifogging, a dynamic LED indicator, and is ergonomically designed for handheld operation. The scan field of view (FOV) is 58% greater than the Aoralscan 2, with a 16 × 12-mm FOV (standard tip) and up to 22-mm deep scan depth. The Aoralscan 3 is suitable for various clinical scenarios, including acquiring scan bodies and periodontal scans. The device has 2 tip sizes, accommodates adults and children, is autoclavable up to 100 times, and is slimmer. The 15% longer autoclavable scanner tips offer patients a more comfortable experience.
OraPharma announced the launch of its MyPerioHealth app. This app is described as a patient education tool, as it provides patients a way of understanding different stages and grades of periodontal disease. Patients who have received a diagnosis of periodontitis can use the app to gain a better understanding of their disease. The app complements manual staging and grading through its data collection and automated calculations using the American Academy of Periodontology guidelines. Patients can interface with dental professionals to gain insight on gum disease. The MyPerioHealth app can be used on a tablet or cell phone, with a web version available online.
The M320 dental microscope features an integrated 4K camera as well as the Leica View App, which can be used for streaming microscope images and video to mobile devices for remote viewing. The 4K images and videos can be transferred to a computer to be used for case documentation, presentations, webinars, training events, and publications. It does this through 2 LED light paths and a deep depth of field to view narrow cavities and structures. It is designed to make patient outcomes better, as well as boost the dental professional’s comfort level. Antimicrobial coating is said to support infection control protocols. ScanBoxpro is a portable device designed to help patients have artificial intelligence–powered scans on hand at any time and to help remotely monitor fixed and removable orthodontic appliances. It is meant to accompany the cloud-based software offered by DentalMonitoring that allows for remote clinical monitoring of orthodontic treatments. The ScanBoxpro also features consistent imaging, optimal occlusal and lateral views, portability, accessibility for all patients, storage capacity, and an autoclavable capacity in its cheek retractor tube. It comes with a phone holder designed to fit most modern smartphones.
PhoneSight is a voice over internet protocol integrated with Henry Schein One patient software, Dentrix Patient Engage, Demandforce, and Lighthouse. It’s designed for practices to route calls and provide a better patient experience through personalized interactions. PhoneSight uses a Smart Caller ID to display patient information, such as upcoming appointments. Team members can use this information in patient interaction, leading to a better quality of service for the patients. Other features include custom greetings, auto attendants, and custom hold messages and music.
NightGuard Flex is indicated for the fabrication of orthodontic and dental appliances, such as mouth guards, night guards, and splints, and now becomes a part of the company’s family of digital dentistry and 3D printing solutions. It is designed to deliver the best possible patient experience with high-impact strength and wear resistance, comfortable and flavorless material, and same-day patient delivery. NightGuard Flex is also designed to drive greater efficiency for dental practitioners by eliminating the need for third party resins and creating uniform, end-to-end dental 3D printing workflows.
The Defend 400 is an FDA-cleared Class II medical device that is reportedly 99.9% effective against airborne pathogens, such as SARS-CoV-2, SRSA, and bacteria. It is also said to purify the air of particulate matter, volatile organic compounds, gases, and odors. The new unit features NanoStrike technology—a method of air disinfection that bursts airborne pathogen cells, rapidly inactivating them to ensure they are no longer a threat. The Defend 400 also utilities a 4-stage pathogen inactivation and filtration process with medical-grade filters from Camfil to capture debris and large and fine particles. Carestream Dental expanded its implant portfolio with Swissmeda Dental Planning System (DPS) to give clinicians, labs, dental service organizations, and implant companies an easier surgical design process, faster turnaround, and better outcomes. DPS’ built-in communication tools are said to make it easy to seek feedback from referrals or labs. The drilling templates feature a lightweight wire frame designed to provide good visibility during surgery. Carestream integrated a Swissmeda export button within its imaging software, enabling users to directly interface with surgical planning software. Swissmeda accepts image files from most manufacturers’ CBCT systems and intraoral scanners.
The new Ultrafast Laser is a wireless diode laser that is designed to eliminate setup time and messy cords. Ultrafast features an ergonomic design and is said to provide superior performance. It delivers 3W constant and 5W pulsed infrared power at 808 nm, and its green aiming beam allows for better visual clarity during procedures. It comes with easily disposable fiber tips and a slide-in laser shield. The laser is durable with a scratch resistant solid aircraft aluminum body. It runs 45 minutes continuously on a single charge, weighs only 3.5 oz and measures 6.4 in.
ProEZ Gel Pre-Treatment Gel is a new and effective tool for precleaning soiled instruments and devices at point-of-use. It features a unique innovative bio-generated action for targeted soil breakdown, even on complex sticky orthopedic and neurosurgical soils. This active soil breakdown combines with humectants to sustain moisture to reduce the risk of dangerous biofilm formation. Neutral pH ProEZ Gel is tested for broad material compatibility and protects instrumentation by dissolving corrosive blood soils before damage can occur in vulnerable jointed areas.
