Q: What are some of the success stories you have heard from dental professionals who are using the NOMAD?

A: Every dental specialty has a unique reason for why they love using the NOMAD. Enododontists love it because it allows them to stay with the procedure. No longer do they need to leave the chair and the patient when an X-ray needs to be taken. Pedodontists love the NOMAD because it allows them to remain with anxious patients – we all know how wiggly kids can be.

No longer do they leave the room, only to come back in and find that the child has moved, requiring an X-ray retake. Oral surgeons love it because they can take their NOMAD with them to the surgical suite when performing procedures under anesthesia. It speeds up their process, too.

Q: Talk about how NOMAD is changing the way dentists are taking intraoral X-rays.

A: The reality is, intraoral X-ray really hasn’t changed much in decades. The NOMAD brought about the first true change in the way dental professionals take X-rays. How many homes do you walk into and see a corded phone on the wall anymore? The same holds true in the dental practice.

Why hang a wall-mounted X-ray? Times have changed. NOMAD delivers benefits that wall mounts can’t. With close to 14,000 NOMADs in use worldwide, dental practices are finding the NOMAD is offering them the best workflow design, most flexibility, and best investment possible. No more arm drift or pass-throughs- this is the modern way to take X-rays efficiently.

Q: Now under the KaVo Kerr Group umbrella, what impact will that have on the NOMAD?

A: The resources made available to us on a global level have been tremendous – everything from sales and service support to enhanced development and manufacturing processes. All of these allow us the opportunity to drive continued product innovation and market presence.

Q: What is the one thing about NOMAD you want dental professionals to know after reading this article?

A: I hear all the time from dentists and staff that the NOMAD is one of only a handful of products that has entered the dental market and actually changed the way they practice. In fact, we often hear from dental staff in offices that have both a NOMAD and wall mounts that the wall mounts no longer get used because the NOMAD is that much easier.

If you are interested in changing the way your office takes intraoral X-rays, you owe it to yourself to take a look at the NOMAD. And yes, we offer demos if you want to see it firsthand. As we like to say, “hang a picture, not a wall mount.”

FEATURED PRODUCT

NOMAD PRO 2

NOMAD Pro 2 is a portable and handheld intraoral X-ray that can be easily carried from one operatory to another, eliminating the need for wall mounted units. It’s shielded, lightweight design also allows the operator to stay chairside with the patient, making it ideal for wiggly children and anxious or special needs patients.

Because of its flexibility, NOMAD is able to provide dental practices with the fastest work flow and most uptime of any intraoral X-ray. Most users find they can take X-rays in half the time, with fewer retakes. This allows them to get diagnostic information faster, so they can spend more time with their patients.
