Manufacturer Hu-Friedy has launch of Streamline® PLUS ultrasonic inserts, the company announced in a press release.
The inserts are the newest addition to the Streamline portfolio, which also includes the original Streamline Classic and Streamline Direct Flow®. The new Streamline PLUS inserts reportedly feature the ergonomic handle design of Hu-Friedy’s Swivel inserts minus the swivel function. This is said to allow clinicians to choose one of the company’s inserts that best works for them.
“Ultrasonic scaling is an integral treatment modality for periodontal therapy,” Hu-Friedy Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Jennifer Naylor said in the press release. “As different styles of magnetostrictive devices are available, we set out to create an insert that not only lives up to Hu-Friedy’s reputation for superior quality and attention to ergonomic detail but also provides maximum flexibility for clinicians to continue working with their preferred device.”
The Streamline PLUS inserts are designed for the removal of hard debris and calculus, the statement said. The inserts are also designed to reduce finger pinching and hand fatigue while allowing for ease of movement and the textured silicone grip allows for a secure grasp. These inserts also offer color-coding for easy tip identification.
The Streamline PLUS inserts are available in seven tip designs, which allows clinicians the ability to select the optimal tip for use during prophylaxis, periodontal therapy, and other non-surgical periodontal procedures. In addition, the blended stainless steel composition is said to maximize reliability, tip life, and corrosion resistance.
