The Black Line Mirrors build upon the success of HD Mirrors, Black Line, and XTS product lines and deliver superior visibility throughout any dental procedure
Hu-Friedy introduced their new HD Black Line Mirrors last week. The Black Line Mirrors build upon the success of HD Mirrors, Black Line, and XTS product lines and deliver superior visibility throughout any dental procedure, the company said in a press release.
The new Black Line Mirrors feature Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating on the handle and mirror frame, which is meant to reduce glare by up to 80 percent for optimal visibility, Hu-Friedy said. The black finish allows for greater contrast within the oral cavity, providing a greater distinction between the instrument, the tooth, and the surrounding tissue for easy intraoral identification, the announcement said.
The DLC coating and the color of the HD Mirror glass allows for quicker and more accurate visibility of the mouth with a 113 percent reflection factor, Hu-Friedy in the statement. The result is a sharp, distortion-free image. The HD Black Line mirrors are 50 percent brighter than other front surface glass mirrors, the statement added.
“Loupes and headlamps are now stronger than ever in terms of the amount of light that is emitted,” said Hu-Friedy Senior Director, Global Strategic Business Unit – Periodontal and Diagnostics, Stacie Barth. “The HD Black Line Mirrors reflect our commitment to continually challenge ourselves to develop unique, high-quality instruments that help clinicians perform at their best.”
Additionally, the matte finish helps lower strain and fatigue by reducing the necessity of shifting positions for clinicians due to the shine produced by traditional metal mirrors, the press release said. The large diameter handle increases user control and make the HD Black Line mirror and ergonomically-friendly option.
