Henry Schein One to Launch Application Programming Interface Exchange

This new online platform will be a resource for software vendors to share their expertise with thousands of practices on the Dentrix Ascend SOC-2 security-certified cloud-based system.

Henry Schein One’s newest offering is the Dentrix Ascend Application Programming Interface (API) Exchange, which aims to offer software vendors the opportunity to share their expertise with practices using Dentrix Ascend, per a press release from Henry Schein. Dentrix Ascend customers will be able to access this information easily within the exchange. Information included in this system can be app descriptions and links to approved vendor websites. This Exchange will affirm Henry Schein One’s commitment to open architecture software in dentistry, according to chief technology officer, Alan Rencher.

“We are excited to take this next step as a leader in open architecture––allowing best-in-class partners access to our broad ecosystem, which contains the largest network of dentists and patients,” Rencher says in the press release. “We have numerous third parties who are approved and ready to share their expertise with our network, and we’re excited to drive the growth of this powerful dental community.”

Vendors can go through a step-by-step onboarding to register within the Dentrix Ascend API Exchange. Through it, vendors will be able to access both the platform and networking resources provided by Henry Schein One. Already, VideaHealth and Bola AI are participating in the Exchange, and more software vendors are encouraged to join.
