A look at some of the newest dental product launches in the industry.
BIOLASE and EdgeEndo have announced the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance of the EdgePRO laser-assisted microfluidic irrigation device. This device is designed for endodontic procedures for cleaning and disinfection. The EdgePRO system and related products are available in the United States.
Why this laser is ideal for endodontic procedures:
The EdgePRO laser-assisted microfluidic irrigation device utilizes BIOLASE’s Er,Cr:YSGG 2780-nm wavelength technology. Using this technology, the EdgePRO irrigation device is able to make root canal procedures easier, more efficient, and safer for both patient and practitioner. This laser technology can be used for debridement, cleaning, and disinfection for root canal procedures and uses laser light-sound technology paired with irrigation. These technologies paired together create an ideal system for disinfection in endodontic procedures.
Bien-Air’s Nova is designed to overcome the challenges of a traditional handpiece. The small head and slim handle enhance field of vision and guarantee easier access to the back of the mouth. With the Accu-Spray Quattro Mix system, it focuses 4 asymmetrical air/water sprays on the end of the bur with laser precision. Its stainless steel construction with PVD coating—4 times more resistant to shocks— and PVD coated chuck—doubling the handpiece life—makes it the lightest handpiece in the company’s range.
Why this handpiece stands out from the rest:
These improved ergonomics reduce wrist fatigue during day-to-day work, and the opti-mized Cylcro gears and monobloc handle reduce both vibrations and the sound level for user comfort. Additional features include Cool Touch+ heat-arresting technology to reduce risk of patient burns and a sterilizable antiretraction valve protection to reduce risks of cross contamination.
The latest updates to SureSmile® Aligner Software are designed to further enhance the overall user experience and interface. The company also plans to integrate SureSmile VProTM, an at-home high-frequency vibration (HFV) device, with the SureSmile workflow later this year. The software features updated treatment planning tools, including an enhanced view of models and a streamlined patient management screen to make it easier for doctors on the SureSmile Aligner Platform to view key information. Additionally, a simplified prescription process enables them to work more efficiently. It also gives users a new dental examination process: a 2D color model of the upper and lower dental arch.
Why this user interface streamlines case information:
The tooth movement icon opens the free-floating window with tabs for displace-ments, elastics, and measurements, and the patient summary screen makes it easy to view important information such as the case’s full expiration date, dental exam, and prescription details. Communication with the SureSmile Digital Lab is facilitated through a streamlined prescription process.

As premature restoration failures are born from excessive bite force, this device can be a powerful tool to ensure the longevity of restorations. Financing is available for the Innobyte, which is available now.

The ClearVue LED bulb has a 15,000-lumen output, 5000-K color temperature, and a 5-year warranty.
