Practice management tools play a pivotal role in orchestrating and optimizing all the essential processes within a dental practice. As we delved into the landscape of 2023, we noted several standout practice management tools, each designed to address the evolving needs of dental professionals and enhance the overall patient experience. As technology continues to advance, the tools listed here are poised to play an increasingly integral role in shaping the future of dental health care administration.
// Staffing Platform
Cloud Dentistry
Cloud Dentistry’s dental marketplace software is designed to help dental support organizations and practices fill empty positions as well as match its network of dental professionals seeking a permanent or temporary position as a hygienist or dental assistant. Offices are able to see the number of bookings a professional had through the platform, along with the number of times they have been late or a no-show. Conversely, dental professionals can see practice reviews by their peers to help them select the best potential employers. Other features include interactive 2-way messaging between candidates and employers and the removal of problematic professionals and practices with low ratings from the platform to ensure the quality of candidate/employer matches.
// Software Module
Dental Intelligence Insurance
Software provider Dental Intelligence has announced a new module powered by Vyne Dental® called Dental Intelligence Insurance. This module is said to provide real-time eligibility verification as well as claims processing, according to a press release from Dental Intelligence. With it, practices can verify patient information and insurance benefits in a more efficient, streamlined way. It eliminates the need for phone calls, and with its real-time nature, allows practices to check the status of any claim through relevant notifications. The module works with Dental Intelligence Analytics and Engagement.

Payment Manager
Payment Manager, the newest patient solution from Carestream Dental’s practice management portfolio, Sensei, offers a secure way for practices to process payments quickly and efficiently. It is designed to eliminate the need to stay late to balance the ledger, and also means no more separate payment processing systems with the potential for errors. Payment Manager’s direct integration with Sensei Cloud, SoftDent, and WinOMS means credit card transactions are automatically posted directly to a patient’s ledger, so it is always up to date. Not only that, using an integrated payment system avoids settlement errors and delays in completing patient statements.
