Flexcera™
Designed to provide a 3D printed denture solution that doesn’t compromise on strength or esthetics, the Flexcera materials from Desktop Health include Flexcera Base and Flexcera Smile. The new materials were developed to provide the strength of a ceramic restoration while retaining the denture properties derived from long chain chemistry of denture material. The Flexcera materials are approved for exclusive use with EnvisionTEC 3D printers and can be used in a workflow to provide same-day dentures without compromising on quality.
What makes these 3D printed dentures stand out
The solution can be used to produce up to 8 dentures in less than 2 hours. A hybrid ceramic resin with optimal translucency, the materials offer high fracture and moisture resistance to provide durable prosthetics. The long chain chemistry is formulated to provide ceramiclike strength in a bottle. The Flexcera materials are expected to be commercially available in the US and Canada by the end of June.

3Shape Automate
3Shape Automate is said to be the first dental design platform powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Developed for dental laboratories and hosted on the 3Shape website, Automate allows dental technicians to set up an unlimited number of design orders with customizable instructions and upload scans to the design service. Its AI technology is said to return design proposals in as little as 5 minutes, regardless of the number of designs ordered. Labs will pay for only what is approved and downloaded. Automate’sopen platform allows technicians using 3Shape Dental System, exocad, or other select scanners to send files to the platform.
Why consider this design platform
You can use 3Shape Automate for your single-unit monolithic molar and premolar crown design needs, with more indications to come. Choose your design settings and upload your scans, and Automate’s advanced AI technology will deliver your design as fast as you like. Automate is free to try. You pay for only the designs you approve. Use it when your lab needs to scale production or cost-effectively outsource design.

NXD200
Designed to deliver high productivity, precision, and performance, the NXD200 dental lab 3D printer comes equipped with 510K Cleared & Class IIa Certified KeySplint Soft® and ultrafast KeyModel Ultra® for high-performance dental and orthodontic models, along with the rest of Keystone’s laboratory and medical device printing materials, including KeyTray and KeyGuide. The ultrafast and high-resolution NXD200 3D printer features patented LSPc technology that combines a large build area, extreme print uniformity, advanced process algorithms, modular design for onsite automation, and intelligent optimization.
What makes this 3D printer stand out
Offering up to 20x productivity gains, the printer is said to improve dental labs’ productivity with the same impact that digital dentistry delivered to traditional manual processes. It comes with accelerated part-to-print capabilities, including fully integrated build setup and print management software that can prepare part files for printing in half the time of other solutions. The machine is also said to offer extreme print uniformity, advanced process algorithms, and modular design for onsite automation.
3D PRINTING RESIN
IBT Resin
IBT Resin is formulated for the direct printing of indirect bonding trays to simplify orthodontic bracket placement. Alongside materials like Draft Resin for rapid production of models, Formlabs now offers a comprehensive suite of 3D printing materials designed to save time, money, and effort. The technology enables practitioners to create aligners in-house, making this treatment plan financially viable for more patients. Clear aligners continue to have clinical limitations, and in many cases traditional orthodontic treatment with brackets is still indicated and the preferable option. Now, 3D-printed indirect bonding trays are bringing labor and cost savings to bracket placement procedures.
Milling Unit
PrograMill DRY
A compact 5-axis dental milling unit well suited to entry-level CAD/CAM users, the PrograMill DRY can reportedly serve as an ideal dedicated production system for zirconia restorations or digital dentures. Cost-efficient without compromising on milling accuracy, the system seamlessly integrates with 3Shape Design Software as well as Ivoclar Vivadent’s PrograMill CAD and PrograMill CAM applications. The mill makes it easy to change materials and discs with a quick clamping system that can be operated with 1 hand and does not require the use of any tools. Compatible with zirconia materials for use in fixed restorations, the mill is also well suited for production of polymethyl methacrylate parts.
Intraoral Scanner
Medit i700
The Medit i700 is the next-generation intraoral scanner from Medit that builds upon the success of the company’s Medit i500 model. Powering the new unit is a superfast camera that captures up to 70 frames per second. This means more data with each pass, resulting in a smooth and quick scanning experience with realistic colors and a crisp image. The camera and other internal components have been reduced in size to create a smaller, lighter handpiece that weighs just 245 g (8.64 oz). The redesigned tips are now reversible and autoclavable 100 times, increasing comfort of use and ease of maintenance.
Gold Abutments
NT Trading Titanium Abutment With Gold Anodization
NT Trading™ Custom Titanium Abutments are milled with NT-Trading Preform abutments, with gold anodization an extra available feature to provide a rich color that helps mimic a patient’s dentition and provides optimal esthetics. NT-PREFORM® milling blanks for individual 1-piece titanium abutments in the CAM process include severalbenefits, including a precise prefabricated implant interface, optimal gingiva forming by 2 different gingiva heights, and individual abutment design by prosthetical term.
Milling Material
Nacera® Pearl Natural
Nacera Pearl Natural is an ultrahigh-translucent multilayer material, whose natural color and translucency gradients also meet the strictest requirements of ceramists. To begin with, 7 Vita Classical colors as well as 2 VITA 3D bleach colors and Stellar White cover the most common tooth colors. Thanks to the strength values of Nacera Pearl Natural throughout the blank, connectors can even be positioned in the uppermost translucent layer without difficulty. In this context, the material offers high safety reserves at all times for the required strength limits according to Class 5 of DIN EN ISO 6872. The new Nacera Pearl Natural material is formulated to offer dental technicians greater processing reliability than conventional materials.
Printing Resin
VeriCast OS
The latest addition to the VeriBrand line of 3D printing resins from Whip Mix is VeriCast OS, a new castable resin. The material’s red color reportedly makes it easier to discern details in printed parts. It is suited for printing crowns, bridges, substructures, and removable partial frameworks, and the resin is durable but burns out cleanly without leaving ash or other residue. The material is designed for both investment casting and ceramic pressing, and pairs optimally with Whip Mix ResinVest. VeriCast OS resin works with LCD and DLP printers in both 385-nm and 405-nm wavelengths.
CHAIRSIDE MILL
Maxx Chairman
The Maxx Chairman chairside milling machine is designed for 1-day dentistry and built for fast, accurate milling. This milling unit does not require compressed air and features a noise shield for silent operation. Its AC Servo motor enables stable and precise control, and its 2 spindles and automatic tool changer are said to make same-day fabrication easy. The Chairman can reportedly fabricate crowns in less than 15 minutes, and it is able to mill glass ceramics, hybrid resin, zirconia, and polymethyl methacrylate materials. The 5-axis milling machine features a high-frequency spindle, with a maximum power of 0.5 kW and 100,000 rpm.
