This ultra strong, esthetic Flexcera Smile Ultra+ resin allows for a quick printing time for both patient and practitioner satisfaction.
Desktop Health has announced the launch of its new resin material for printable dental restorations. Flexcera™ Smile Ultra+ Resin is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for permanent use in dental restoration. It is said to be one of the strongest dental resins on the market, according to a press release from Desktop Health. Combined with Desktop Health’s new Einstein™ series of 3D printers, this next generation of Flexcera material is said to be suitable for permanent, printable dental restorations.
Flexcera Smile Ultra+ uses long chain chemistry and ceramic-like strength for the printing of same-day crowns, bridges, veneers, as well as full and partial dentures. It touts a 3 times fracture resistance than other resins, moisture resistance, and a natural esthetic for patient satisfaction. Flexcera Smile Ultra+ also uses NanoFit 385 technology for a better marginal fit, according to the press release.
This resin is suitable for labs and dentists that are looking for a quick print time while still maintaining strength and enhanced esthetics, according to Desktop Health President and CEO Michael Jafar.
“Combining advanced resin science with 3D printing technology delivers superior strength, aesthetics, and durability,” Jafar said in the press release. “A dentist can now print veneers, bridges, crowns, dentures, inlays, onlays and more in minutes. Beautiful, functional, same-day dental prosthetics with ceramic-like strength are now possible – with the added bonus of cutting patient waiting times from weeks to mere hours.”
