At a press conference held by Benco Dental, Managing Director Chuck Cohen discussed Benco Dental’s visions for the future of dental operatories. Benco envisions smaller operatory spaces, citing 5 different reasons that this could be beneficial. Cutting down on operatory space allows the dental practice to open another room, potentially increasing their yield and revenue. It may also allow for less physical stress on the dental professional, as they would be able to reach and have what they need in hand without extra movement. Cohen cited a “Just Right” mentality, the idea that the operatories could be smaller, but not too small, and also included that smaller operatories could potentially be the same price as standard operatories, but with the added benefit of higher revenue. These smaller operatories could be a great boon for high-volume practices that would benefit from another chair.
