Day 1 at CDS Midwinter Meeting Features Product Launches, Plenty of Excitement

New product launches, announcements, enthusiasm all on display in Chicago this week.

The CDS Midwinter Meeting kicked off Thursday at McCormick Place in Chicago and attendees and exhibitors alike seemed to be thrilled to have the annual event back in person after the pandemic prevented the gathering last February.

Continuing education sessions were thriving, IDS held a kick-off event in preparation for its 100 Years of IDS to be celebrated in 2023, and many manufacturers picked this week to launch new products to the dental industry.

Here’s a quick look at just some of the many announcements from the opening day.

100 Years of IDS
Organizers from the International Dental Show (IDS) held a breakfast to share updates on next year’s meeting in Cologne, Germany, which will mark 100 years for the trade show.

IDS is the leading global trade fair for the dental community, which ensures sustainable success as a platform for innovation and market trends. Next year’s fair is scheduled for March 14-18, 2023. The new Hall 1 will make its debut at the event and online registration for the show opened this week at: https://www.english.ids-cologne.de/

The IDS is held every 2 years in Cologne and is organized by the GFDI Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufactuers (VDDI) and staged by Koelnmesse GmbH, Cologne.

The International Dental Show in Cologne is the world's leading trade fair for the dental sector. In 2023, at the 40th IDS, the fair will once again generate momentum while paving the way for pioneering advances, demonstrating its role as a successful presentation platform and meeting place for all decision-makers in the dental-medicine market.

BioRoot Flow
Septodont announced the launch of a new bioceramic root canal sealer, BioRoot Flow. Stop by booth 4400 for more information on this product targeted for GPs that perform endodontic procedures.

Designed to make obturation easy, BioRoot Flow comes in a ready-to-use syringe. Described as easy and fast (no preparation time), the root canal sealer features consistent viscosity all the time and can be used with warm or cold obturation.

Highly radiopaque and easily visible on x-rays, the new product allows clinicians to keep their technique. Users can stick with their preferred obturation technique or shift to an easy single cone technique with efficient results.

TrollFoil 4.5
Directa USA/Troll Dental unveiled its new TrollFoil 4.5 pre-mounted articulating foil (4.5 micron). Attendees can check this out at booth 2919.

A smart delivery system allows for dispensing 1 TrollFoil at a time. It is easy to pick up without getting ink on your fingers. Individual pieces stacked nicely into a little container fits nicely in any cabinet, drawer of counter top.

The thin TrollFoil 4.5 is designed to make it easy to get to those hard to dial in bites easy. The high degree of accuracy means patients to not need to return.
