D4D Technologies Files Patent Infringement Complaint Against Medit

D4D Technologies, LLC has announced that it is filing a United States patent infringement complaint against Medit. This complaint asserts that Medit’s intraoral scanners infringe on D4D Technologies patents that relate to high-speed and 3D digitalization of objects primarily used in connection with dentistry and orthodontics, according to a press release from D4D.

Intraoral scanners from Medit, including the i500 and i700, infringe on D4D Technologies’ patents, according to CEO Tammi Carter.

“The scanner digitalization technologies developed by D4D Technologies, LLC were the product of a huge investment of time and money by our company and employees,” Carter said in the press release. “We simply cannot allow other companies to copy our hard-earned technologies, infringe our patents, and divert customers. We have filed the complaint against Medit Corporation to protect our company’s investment in these technologies.”

This comes after other patent infringement complaints against Medit, such as the one filed in July, 2022 by 3Shape. That patents in the complaint asserted by D4D Technologies are United States patents 7,342,668 and 7,978,892 and were filed in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Waco Division.

The complaint seeks both monetary damages and injunctive relief.
