The dental laser’s new features include a 1.00 mm-XC (coarse-cut) spot size, an improved 1.00 mm (standard-cut) spot size and the Solea Software 2.4.0 Automatic Software Upgrade feature.
The features will debut at CDA Presents San Francisco 2015.
Convergent Dental Inc., a privately held dental device company, announced a significant software upgrade toSolea, the first FDA-approved, CO2 9.3 micron dental laser for hard and soft tissue.
The dental laser’s new features include a 1.00 mm-XC (coarse-cut) spot size, an improved 1.00 mm (standard-cut) spot size and the Solea Software 2.4.0 Automatic Software Upgrade feature.
The new spot sizes reportedly enhance Solea’s performance and create versatility for dentists looking to limit their use of the traditional drill and deliver virtually anesthesia-free and blood-free procedures. Convergent Dental will showcase the latest Solea features at CDA Presents San Francisco 2015 at the Moscone Center from Aug. 20-22.
Solea’s varied settings and spot sizes are said to make it the most versatile dental laser in the marketplace. The new 1.00 mm-XC spot size ablates dental tissue as fast as the 1.25 mm-XC spot size but in a smaller, more precise pattern. The new 1.00 mm (standard-cut) spot size replaces the original 1 mm spot and is designed to ablate faster and smoother than its predecessor. Solea’s new spot sizes mimic bur sizes to reportedly make it easier than ever for dentists to transition from traditional drills.
