Chicago Dental Society Celebrates Attendance Increase for 2023 Midwinter Meeting

This year’s Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting saw increased attendance, as well as an increase in exhibitors and lectures.

The Chicago Dental Society’s (CDS) annual Midwinter Meeting, which took place from February 23rd through the 25th, experienced a 28% increase in attendance, according to a press release from the CDS. Not only did attendance increase this year, but lecturers, continuing education courses, and exhibitors increased as well. This is a good sign for the future of the event, according to 2023 CDS President Dr Michael Durbin.

“We are thrilled by the impressive turnout at this year’s Midwinter Meeting,” Dr Durbin says in the press release. “While last year was incredibly special, as it was the first time back in person since 2020, there was still a lot of caution about gathering in person. This year’s meeting signaled we are getting back to normal and presented a valuable opportunity for us to gather as a profession in the most productive and enjoyable way possible.”

This meeting has been held annually for the past 158 years and stands as a Chicago mainstay every February. These higher attendance numbers may indicate an upward swing of convention attendance, bolstering an industry that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was not seeing increases for the past few years.
