“It’s just for kids,” said Shakibkhou. There’s a fox model that has monitor, a light and a moving head that looks like a fox.
“The most interesting part is kids love it,” he said. “Every kid that’s walked by here is just dying to sit in it. Adults can’t stop taking pictures of it.”
The chair helps children overcome the fear of going to the dentist and they are excited to sit in the chair, Shakibkhou explained. The kids can be comfortably strapped in the chair, watch a video and be distracted while the dentist is doing the work.
The CDA Presents The Art and Science of Dentistry is ongoing through Saturday, May 5, and features 600 exhibiting companies and more than 140 new products. Throughout the show, and after, visit CDA 2012 live coverage for video, audio and written reports about the show.
The bi-annual CDA convention is expected to draw more than 27,000 dentists, dental professionals and students from across the U.S. The three-day convention will feature educational courses and 135,000 square feet of exhibit space where 568 exhibitors will demonstrate new techniques as well as innovative products and services for dentists.
