CAO Group, Inc Merging Its Dental Properties into One Brand—AMD Lasers

Beginning Friday, all dental products currently sold under the CAO Group name globally will transition to AMD.

The AMD Lasers brand, well known for its soft-tissue dental lasers and curing lights, will expand to also include the company’s CAO Group brands including imaging and diagnostic technologies and products.

Beginning March 1, 2024, all dental products currently sold under the CAO Group (CAO) name globally will transition to its AMD Lasers, Inc division (AMD), the company recently announced. With these dental brands combining, AMD will offer a comprehensive product portfolio for the dental community.

Known for its Picasso soft tissue laser and Monet laser curing light, AMD expands its offering to include imaging and diagnostics with the newly released Acuity™ digital x-ray sensor, along with the soon to be released Leonardo™ versatile laser system, Hubble™ digital vision headset, and other innovations planned in 2024 and 2025. The company launched the Acuity digital x-ray sensor at last week’s Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting.

Additionally, AMD will be offering products in the restorative, endodontic, preventive, whitening, infection control and accessories product categories, such as retrofit LED bulbs for dental units and delivery brush tips. The vast offerings currently available combined with those planned to hit the market will mean the company will be offering dental products covering a wide range of a categories.

AMD will continue to focus on its direct business but will offer most products via dental products distributors, the company says. Outside of the United States AMD will offer its products solely through distributors in each country/region.

While CAO is involved in several business units in addition to AMD, such as forensic, medical, veterinary, and lighting, it has decided to focus on the dental business as its main revenue driver.

“The AMD Lasers brand is as well-known as any of the other large manufacturers in the dental space,” Dr. Densen Cao, PhD, president of AMD and CEO of CAO Group, Inc, says in a press release. “This consolidation of the dental business under 1 brand will enable AMD to continue its journey of innovation and to make our customers’ jobs easier, faster, and better.”
