The new service will connect dental labs to practices using the Ceramill DRS System through the cloud-based AG.Live platform.
Created as a new path for digital collaboration between dental labs and clinics, Laboratory Design Service is a new feature for Amann Girrbach's cloud-based AG.Live platform.
The new feature allows dental lab technicians to remotely take over the design of the restoration for practices using the Ceramill DRS (Direct Restoration Solution) System, according to a press release. The lab is able to import scan data and case files from the clinic into Amann Girrbach's Ceramill Mind CAD software where the case is designed before the file is sent back to the practice where milling can be completed.
"With good timing, this creates perfect opportunities for high-quality same-day or even single-visit-den-tistry with lab-based design," Elena Bleil, product manager at Amann Girrbach, says in a press release.
The new Laboratory Design Service feature will be available to all dental labs using Cermill Version 4.4, and intraoral scans can be captured using a range of available scanners, making this solution available to a wide range of dental labs and practices.
