This wearable HVE tip allows for a more ergonomic, convenient workflow, especially for professionals working without an assistant.
Where: Any dental practice.
When: The ergonomic design of this wearable high-volume evacuator (HVE) allows the clinician to easily guide evacuation with powered instrumentation throughout the mouth.
Why: The ErgoFinger is a disposable HVE tip that is designed to promote ergonomic working postures and reduce physical stress on a dental professional working without an assistant. The device reportedly allows users to avoid upraised arms, bending, tightly pinched grip, and twisting of the neck and wrist. It’s also designed to reduce aerosol contamination from the oral cavity and eliminate fluid and debris by removing 90% to 98% of aerosols rising from the operative site.
*How: The device’s 11 mm nozzle bore size is designed to reduce aerosol contamination and is disposable to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination. Its 360°-rotating nozzle allows the aspirator tip to be directed toward the work area. The length of the nozzle is adjustable; it can be extended for posterior use or shortened for use in the anterior. Its air holes and projections prevent the nozzle from attaching to the mucous membranes. Its soft plastic is patient-friendly and allows the device to be used in tissue retraction.
