The total just keep climbing for the partnership between Heraeus Precious Metal Refining and the Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology, as today it was announced that last year donations from the refining branch of Heraeus Kulzer to the foundation were close to $20,000.

The day started early for the technicians and lab owners attending the 8th Annual Dental Laboratory Owners Association of California CAD/CAM Expo & Symposium, but the sizable crowd was in store for a day packed with details on the latest in dental lab technology and opportunities to meet with the range of companies selling scanners, mills, materials and associated products.

 Three years after selling his successful implant firm IMTEC to 3M, Dr. Ronald A. Bulard has re-entered the dental products and implants arenas with the purchase of Park Dental Research from that company's founder Dr. Jack Wimmer. The Oklahoma-based company officially opened its doors under Dr. Bulard's leadership on Oct. 1.

Research shows that sharing utensils and on-the-mouth kisses can lead to cavities through the transfer of saliva. Mutans streptococci, the cavity-causing bacteria, can be passed from a child's mother or father during every day activities like blowing on food to cool if off, sharing utensils and even sharing on-the-mouth kisses.
