here isn’t a job at Harry J. Bosworth that Milly Goldstein hasn’t done, and that-starting from the beginning-gave her a broad view of how the nearly 100-year-old company operates. Her first job was as an administrative assistant at the family-owned business and she is now its president.
“I worked in packaging, shipping and marketing,” Milly said. “My father made sure I did every job in the business.”
In addition to her varied experience working within the dental manufacturing company based in Skokie, Ill., Milly also earned a business degree and worked for four years in another job in the retail field.
Milly’s current duties at the 40-person company include marketing, regulatory and operational functions. Her father purchased Bosworth in the mid-1950s. It was founded in 1912. Now, Milly is looking forward to marking the company’s 100-year anniversary with a celebration next year.
She attributes the company’s longevity to “good relationships with our distributors and dentists and to our commitment to deliver quality services. There are not many companies that can say they’ve been around for 100 years.”
Being part of a family-owned business is an aspect of her career that Milly, who is married to Herbert Pozen, enjoys.
“It’s something I can share with my family,” Milly said.
She also likes knowing that the company’s products help people lead happier lives through improved smiles.
“You can help people feel better about themselves,” she said. “We provide the materials so dentists can do this.”
