Labs sourcing zirconium oxide blanks and blocks from Kerox Dental will now have the products’ content verified through the IdentAlloy/IdentCeram Council’s materials certification program. This will assist labs in maintaining their own product quality while providing dentists, their patients and insurers with documentation to help assure them the advanced Kerox materials they ordered were those that were used in the restoration.

On May 10-11, I had the opportunity to attend Lab Day West, held in Anaheim, Cali. The weekend was a wonderful blur of sessions, booths and being mesmerized by various milling machines, but I managed to glean a few observations from the weekend. Stratasys Ltd. recently announced the immediate availability of VeroDentPlus MED690 dental material for the Objet EdenV series of 3D Printers. Stratasys says VeroDentPlus MED690 enables the 3D printing of dental models that are highly accurate, economical to produce and offer the appearance of dental stone with fine details and resolution. The new material can be used in conjunction with all open intra-oral impression and plaster scanners and is optimized for printing models for crowns, bridges, orthodontic appliances and implants.
