	Sagemax’s latest product is engineered to revolutionize how you think of anterior restorations. NexxZr anterior zirconia is specifically designed for the anterior region. Its high natural translucency and high strength (more than 1000 MPa) are said to mean it can effectively be used for full-contour single units and bridges.

 Software 15 is designed to provide freedom of design and materials, whether creating single restorations, removable partial frameworks or screw-retained bridges and bars. It is now possible to design and mill implant surgical guides and screw-retained bridges with or without soft tissue. Additionally, model-free den­tistry is reportedly even easier with a new triple-tray scan mode for the inEos

 X5. Along with the integration of dental databases, one of the newest features of the software is the jaw-oriented biogeneric reconstruction option that uses the entire occlusal surface of the jaw, as well as the patient’s individual occlusal curves, to create beautiful initial proposals. The software processes files from all current digital impression services, including Sirona Connect, iTero and 3Shape.

	Smile Line introduces “FlexMount,” a flexible rubber connector for combining the handle and the tool. The FlexMount is designed to allow users to apply a very gentle snap to the brush tip. A gentle snap reportedly accelerates the required moisture from the brush belly toward the point. Utilizing this method, the brush tip automatically returns to its sharpest shape while receiving ideal moisture. Also available is the FlexMount with the zirconia spatula. It works as a shock absorber and is said to provide maximum comfort and feeling during mixing of porcelain or stains. The connector is compatible with any of the Smile Line black handle instrument line.

	The new Stern SNAP angled overdenture implant abutments are designed to work with many popular implant systems. The two-piece design reportedly allows the SNAP angled abutment to perform true angle correction of up to 20° on divergent implants without the need to rely on a hinging attachment. The SNAP is also available in a straight version for implants within 10° of parallel. The system features a new maximum durability cap (available at 1 lb., 2 lbs. and 3 lbs.) that does not require a housing, making for a low profile of only 2.5 mm and requiring less space in the denture.

	The Objet30 Dental Prime is said to be engineered to offer the precision of digital dentistry at an affordable price. Users can 3D print a variety of dental applications, eliminating the need to outsource model production. The Objet30 Dental Prime is said to offer digital dentistry benefits in a compact desktop size designed to fit individual labs’ needs. Labs are said to be able to expand their capabilities with the ability to print crown and bridge stone models, casting patterns for removable partial dentures, diagnostic wax-ups and surgical guides and increase productivity and capacity by creating reliably consistent and accurate models.

	Strategy Milling added direct-milled noble PFM substructures to its direct-milled yellow gold restorations this year. Strategy manufactures virtually porosity-free pucks of dental alloy, precisely cutting parts from them on Roeders RXD5 mills. The result is said to be a premium product that no other manufacturing method compares to. Strategy Milling’s process is engineered to produce pristine margins, clean interior of copings and highly detailed copies of designs.

	Luminesse ML is said to be crafted using four layers of high-quality translucent material to form a blended gradient of color. In one simple step, the technician can produce highly characterized teeth that look natural and esthetic while saving the time and expense that goes along with manual coloring. With an 1100 MPa strength, this material is designed to be a great choice for a wide range of restorative plans.

	Valplast released its new r.Pod™ Desktop 3D printer. The r.Pod is capable of printing thermoplastic resins for the construction of digital models, custom trays and soft-tissue implant models. The printer is also capable of printing original Valplast

 nylon resin for flexible partial dentures. Valplast dentures that are printed with the r.Pod are compatible with custom-designed denture teeth that may be milled or printed. Valplast will display its digital solutions at LMT Lab Day Chicago.

	Creodent has offered FDA 510(k) clearance of milled abutments since 2012. Creodent offers the Solidex

 line up of milled abutments (zirconia hybrid, titanium, gold anodized or with retention grooves) along with precision-milled titanium bars. All milling is done at the Creodent facilities located in Manhattan. Labs can ask about other CAD/CAM products and services in Chicago.

	DATRON, maker of the D5 dental milling machine, has released a line of solid carbide CAD/CAM milling tools to the North American market. This line includes tools that are compatible with (or designed for) all major CAD/CAM systems and dental materials. DATRON reportedly has leveraged 20 years of experience in milling tool design along with its patented geometries and specialty coatings to deliver a product designed to help labs and milling centers improve the quality of their milled restorations and save money though extended tool life.

	Dental Creations will showcase new products designed to help the technician work smarter and not harder. Stax Plus Modeling Liquid Kit, for low- and high-fusing porcelains, will be highlighted, and the Z-Shine Diamond Polish Kit, which was specially designed for IPS e.max and zirconia crowns, will be introduced. The kit reportedly provides a high-luster shine in one step in less than 30 seconds. Another new product is the Wonder Z-Ring Kit, which creates even heat distribution across the firing tray. Dental Creations’ booth also has show specials and free samples of products.

 Integrated Solutions introduces NevinLabs’ new ErgoEZ Workstation with LED lighting. Built with Nevin’s new custom-designed optical system, the LED Workstation Light is engineered to illuminate the work area with consistent light quality for improved visual acuity and precise shade matching. The LED lighting is UV-free, reportedly providing users less eye strain and fatigue and allowing for a more comfortable and productive work experience. The average life of the LED model is said to be four times that of compact fluorescent lighting and can reportedly save hundreds of dollars in lamp replacement costs during the lifetime of the fixture. The LED Workstation Light comes with a five-year warranty.

	Fabrication of dental prostheses with DENTCA utilizes a computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system. The system is said to automate the denture-making process for precision and incorporates a 3D impression scanning system, automated DENTCA 3D software and a stereolithographic additive printer technology for denture fabrication. Once DENTCA receives the impression (or 3D scanned files) from doctors or labs, the CAD software system creates 3D dentures using all anatomical landmarks captured in the impression and then 3D prints dentures. Additionally, DENTCA only requires one patient visit before final denture delivery, compared to five visits required by conventional methods.

	Available for all major implant systems, ATLANTIS patient-specific solutions are designed based on the final tooth shape for optimal form and function and are fully FDA-compliant. Most recently, products such as the ATLANTIS™ custom-base solution and ATLANTIS™ insertion guide reportedly have

provided opportunities for dental laboratories to optimize their services and create a more efficient workflow with clinical partners. The new high-precision ATLANTIS™ custom base with ATLANTIS core file solution is designed to provide an optimal foundation for a screw-retained crown. The ATLANTIS insertion guide is a 3D-printed device that holds an ATLANTIS abutment securely at the correct angle and orientation during installation for single- and multiple-unit, cement-retained solutions. 

	ETI Digital Technology’s complete model solution is a special combination of Dental Wings’ model builder module and Stratasys’ Objet30 Dental Prime 3D printer. ETI Digital Technology’s model builder software is said to meet the required demands for laboratories working with intraoral or impression scans. With Dental Wings’ monoblock model feature, laboratories reportedly have the full capability to create the model in one solid block with a replica of the die(s) attached to the side of the block. Additionally, the Dental Prime 3D printer has been validated by ETI Digital Technology to 3D print accurate models created from the Dental Wings model builder module.

	FOLLOW-ME! Technology will demonstrate its newest hyperDENT release, V 7.4. It features angulated screw-channel milling for any indication with a screw access hole ranging from Ti-base hybrid zirconia abutments to chrome-cobalt screw-retained bridges. FOLLOW-ME! Technology will also feature the new hyperDENT denture module. It utilizes denture-specific milling toolpaths, reportedly resulting in extremely fast calculation and milling times for denture bases in wax, PMMA and other materials.

	In Chicago, 3M will showcase resources and tools around the crown and bridge procedure reportedly to help labs and dentists achieve better outcomes with 3M™ Science. On display will be 3M™ ESPE™ Lava™ Plus high-translucency zirconia, which is available in open 98 mm disc format with a patented shading system designed specifically for Lava Plus and the 3M™ True Definition Scanner and said to showcase the scanner’s accuracy, small wand and affordable price tag starting at just $15,995. 3M also celebrates the 15-year anniversary of Lava™ Zirconia. Stop by and learn how 3M’s latest zirconia product, Lava™ Plus™ High Translucency Disc, can benefit labs.

	3Shape creates 3D scanning and CAD/CAM software solutions, producing technology that is said to enable dental professionals to treat more people more effectively and with improved care. In Chicago, you can see 3Shape’s latest lab scanner and software, the D2000 and Dental System, and its digital color impression solution, TRIOS®. 3Shape’s solutions are designed to help dental laboratories drive productivity, offer new materials and create more efficient and consistent workflows.

	Aesthetic Press will present a new line of high translucent, full zirconia in light, dark and dark plus along with its main APValue-based coloring system for the Aesthetic Press and APVolution porcelains. It also recently introduced Horico burs to its product line. Made in Germany, these burs offer a full range of carbide, diamond and CAD/CAM milling burs. Both new products complement the APVanilla wax blank and were voted “Game Changer of the Year” by IDT Navigator. Additionally, Jörg Müller, MDT, founder and president of Aesthetic Press, will host a presentation in the BEGO seminar room on Saturday, Feb. 27.

	Amann Girrbach will showcase its Ceramill FDS (full-denture system), which is said to be the first CAD/CAM-based workflow in dental technology that makes possible the entire in-house fabrication process for full dentures up to the wax try-in stage. Another new product Amann Girrbach will display is the Ceramill Map 200, a compact, quick and inexpensive CAD/CAM scanner that provides a wide range of functions. In addition, the company has launched two new sinter ovens, the Ceramill Therm III and the Argotherm 2. Visitors can also see the various Ceramill blank holders, including the new 98 mm size, which allows users to mill a wide variety of materials in multiple sizes and shapes. 

	Argen recently brought to market new digital solutions, such as ArgenZ Anterior shaded super translucent zirconia and ArgenIS custom abutments. ArgenZ Anterior shaded zirconia is available in six value-base shades plus white, reportedly offering the benefits of preshaded discs coupled with a 25 percent increased translucency over HT zirconia and strength of 765 MPa. The increased vitality and translucency is said to make ArgenZ Anterior a great alternative to lithium disilicate. ArgenIS custom abutments offer labs five-axis precision-milled custom abutments compatible with the leading implant systems and available in full titanium (retention lines or gold-shading optional) and screw-retained, zirconia-hybrid, full contour zirconia-hybrid and SLM CoCr-hybrid. 	Aurident’s Delta Milling Center is set up to provide laboratories with a complete implant solution regardless of the type of implant and the level of the laboratory. The Delta Milling Center will fabricate fully finished screw-retained titanium and hybrid abutments from models or STL files within three to four days. Screw-retained or snap-on implant bars can also be designed and fabricated with Delta Milling Center’s five-axis milling machines. Upon request, the Delta Milling Center designers will work directly with laboratories to assure the most accurate and best-fitting custom implants available.  The Delta Milling Center exclusively uses FDA-approved Delta zirconia or BruxZir® zirconia for the fabrication of copings or full-contour restorations. As an additional incentive, the Delta Milling Center recently reduced the cost of custom implants.  

	AvaDent will showcase a full suite of AvaDent digital denture products from a milled base plate ready for traditional wax-up to a fully milled monolithic denture and a hybrid prosthesis on implants. There are said to be no limitations for this CAE technology that reportedly brings a paradigm shift to the removables industry. The newest developments from AvaDent are the lab-insourcing products and the one digital workflow for digital dentures on bars.

	Constructed utilizing the technology found in “full-frame” CNC industrial machines, the Versamill 5X-200 and 5XS milling machines are designed to perform reliably with high precision for the long term. Versamill includes features like five-axis control, a cast aluminum-alloy frame, a 3 Kw spindle, large-diameter preloaded ball screws, heavy-duty linear guideways, zero stack tolerance rotary axes and more, said to enable you to quickly manufacture restorations with perfect fits and razor-sharp margins with the minimum of post-machining hand work.

	The BEGO VARSEO 3D Printer is engineered to dynamically complete the lab digital workflow. Positioned to be priced significantly less than other printers, VARSEO is reportedly simple to operate, has eight printing solutions (including models, wax, bite splints and guides), demonstrates high accuracy and features 30-second material/job change times. When coupled with the full complement of BEGO digital and analog products (ranging from the Nautilus CC + casting machines, equipment, investment, hydrocolloid, lab scanners, software, CAD/CAM products, SLM frameworks and FDA 510k-approved custom implant abutments), BEGO has plenty to see at LMT Lab Day® Chicago.

	The Dialite Feather Lite polishing system from Brasseler USA consists of diamond-impregnated, polyeurathane, multi-use polishers with flexible spirals designed to separate and “feather” out all crown and bridge restorations. This feathering reportedly helps maintain surface differentiation when polishing porcelain restorations, allowing the instrument to quickly adapt to any surface, including occlusal, interproximal and contact areas. Available in a 26 mm extraoral head size and a 14 mm intraoral head size, both designs are offered in coarse, medium and fine grits. Dialite Feather Lite polishers are engineered to save time as users quickly polish any ceramic restorations, including IPS e.max® and zirconia.

	CAP Multi translucent discs consist of three layers that are blended for transition through the disc for transitions in translucency, hue, chroma and value with layering from bottom to top. This advancement in varied translucency reportedly delivers the most lifelike full-contour zirconia restoration ever developed. The product will initially be available in four preshaded colors with an additional four colors slated for launch later in 2016.

	The new full-HD 3D color feature of the CS 3500 intraoral scanner from Carestream Dental is designed to provide enhanced 3D images in stunning high definition. The vivid colors and detailed texture reportedly offered by this latest update to the scanner’s CS Acquisition software are said to improve communication between practices and labs by providing a realistic view, incredibly close to what the doctor sees, of a patient’s mouth. Additionally, the enhanced image quality offered by the full-HD 3D feature enables automatic margin line detection; clearly marked margin lines improve precision, which can reduce remakes. Carestream Dental’s 3D HD imaging is available with all three of the scanner’s CS Acquisition software’s workflows: restorative, orthodontic and implant.

	The secret of a good modelling wax lies in the recipe. Cavex is said to carefully combine paraffin, microwaxes, natural wax and pigments to ensure the melting points are never too far apart, thus ensuring an even and predictable melting and curing. Cavex offers a choice of soft, regular, hard and extra hard. The procedure is the same, but the melting point and the final hardness differ. The wax plates are of ample size and usually sufficient for two prostheses.

	MillBox is the new dental CAM solution from CIMsystem developed for milling any variation of CAD/CAM material. Said to innovate CAM with its guided workflow and technician-friendly user interface, MillBox reportedly simplifies the nesting process and expedites toolpath creation so lab technicians can focus on more important tasks. MillBox has been built on a powerful CAM platform that is said to be very easy to use and minimizes the amount of time spent processing cases.
