	Imagine for a moment that you were a computer engineer or programmer back in 1992. You’d been reading about the World Wide Web, and perhaps you’d even played around on some research software being called a “browser.” But it was a pain to use the fledgling internet and trying to explain what it was to non-computer-savvy friends and family was even harder.

 was launched. While you might not remember Mosaic, it was one of the first applications to popularize the World Wide Web-and you certainly remember its spiritual successor, Netscape Navigator. Mosaic gave us features we assume are default today-the back button, the URL bar and more. It changed the way we think about being connected, and let people in on the power of the internet. It didn’t single-handedly change the world, but it provided a new tool to let the world-changing power of the web become accessible to the average computer user. It showed that early predictions that the internet would one day change how people work, live and play were more than a possibility-they were an inevitability.

Step-by-step: How the digital workflow can increase global collaboration opportunities

	That process was similar to dentists and dental technicians in the mid-1980s. Perhaps they’d read about new techniques involving machining technology to both the lab and chairside. Perhaps they’d even seen a demonstration of the technology at a school or at a conference. But until the CEREC system was released in 1987 (with additional innovations coming in 1994 and 2000), it was hard to describe. And then, suddenly, the predictions of the future became a little easier. With each upgrade to a system that actually produced usable results, the idea of a digital workflow moved from an idea to a reality to inevitability.

	That inevitability brings us to Digital Esthetics.

	Digital represents where we think the dental world is going. Notice I didn’t say the “lab” or the “clinical” world-digital tools are making those terms less and less meaningful to describe how dental work is actually done. That’s one of the biggest changes that technology has brought to the dental world. It’s no longer possible for work to be siloed off in either lab or clinical workflows; instead, dental technicians need to know digital impressions are taken and how final results will impact patient care, while dental practitioners must understand the lab-based CAD/CAM process and the evolution of digital materials. What the digital workflow has done to dentistry (and what it has enabled dentistry to do!) is revolutionary-and there’s no going back.

Introducing Digital Esthetics

	Sirona has had a busy 18 months-between releasing software updates and debuting new products, they also merged with DENTSPLY to create Dentsply Sirona, one of the largest dental companies in the world.

	We recently spoke to Norbert Ulmer, Director of Laboratory CAD/CAM at Sirona, about the company's big moves and unveilings, and what we can expect next.

Q: Sirona released several major products for labs in 2015. If you had to pick one, which one has you most excited?

Powerful design features, such as the biogeneric jaw design mode which generates the most patient specific anatomies, and the multi-unit screw-retained implant design mode, add easy-to-use techniques to the software that translate directly into new profit making opportunities.

Step-by-step technique: How inLab can make the digital workflow go global

	Q; Sirona works with both dentists and labs-how do you see the lab-dentist workflow changing and adjusting?

	A: During the past year we noticed a substantial increase in dentists adopting digital impression units in an effort to replace conventional impressions, enhance their service level and increase patient satisfaction. Sirona pays tribute to this trend by continuously improving our Sirona Connect web service, along with adding software interfaces on the laboratory side (inLab SW 15) and on the dentist’s side (Sirona Connect SW 4.4). As I just mentioned, recent introductions include a chat-functionality for enhanced communication between dentist and lab as well as a design service functionality that enables a CEREC dentist to send their scans of cases to a dental technician through Sirona Connect for expert designing and then have the finished design sent back to the dentist for milling. We are always motivated to improve speed, turnaround and efficiency. For additional convenience, labs can download the 

 from the Apple App Store and then receive, review and accept Sirona Connect cases directly from their smartphone even on the go, such as while they are out of the lab making deliveries.

	Q: How is Sirona helping labs walk through those changes?

	A: Sirona offers a wide range of basic and advanced training courses that are continuously being offered in North Carolina, Florida, Indiana, California and Oklahoma. Most of these courses are free-of-charge to Sirona inLab laboratories, who can send as many of their technicians as they like, as often as they please. 	Q: The big news coming out of the dental industry was Sirona’s merger with DENTSPLY. Could you give a little background about that?

	A: Sirona and DENTSPLY are, in my opinion, 

 for each other. Both companies are coming from a position of strength in their respective market segments which has led to this merger of equals. DENTSPLY, the market leader in dental consumables and Sirona, the market leader in dental technology and equipment, creates the world’s largest and most diversified manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies.

	Q: What are you most excited about in terms of the merger?

	A: Dentsply Sirona will have approximately 15,000 employees, of which over 600 experienced scientists and engineers will foster the development of better, safer and faster dental care. This, in conjunction with an annual investment of approx. $150 million in R&D will create the largest R&D platform in the industry. I am particularly excited about the synergies that will be obtained by combining DENTSPLY’s consumables platform with Sirona’s technology and equipment. Our new company will offer more innovative products and integrated solutions than any other dental organization in the industry.  

	Q: Sirona had a big 2015. What’s on the docket for 2016?

	A: Over the past couple of years, we introduced some major new products both on the hardware as well as on the software side. inEos X5 is still the only robotic scanner on the market. inLab MC XL is still the fastest glass-ceramic mill complemented by 

 as the only 5-axis seamless dry/wet mill on the market. And inLab SW 15 is the software that brings everything together. Integration and synergies will continue to drive Dentsply Sirona with our combined technology and material expertise through the expanding digital evolution. We are already integrating treatment planning software with inLab SW 15 for the design and fabrication of surgical guides. We also have continued integration of SICAT Function into inLab SW 15 that already allows for the import of dynamic functional data in combination with cone-beam and intra-oral 

 data to replicate patient specific dynamics inside inLab SW 15. Last but not least, of course we will continue to further enhance the previously mentioned integration between inLab software and in-office digital impression systems.

	A: Sirona has thrived in the past and will continue to thrive as 

 by focusing on innovation that is relevant to our customers. Our innovation has been the root of your success. And your success has been the root of ours. Sirona CAD/CAM has been around for over thirty years and inLab specifically has existed for over fifteen. There is a vast group of laboratories who has been with Sirona inLab from the very beginning because they recognized at a very early stage that investing into digital is not like investing into yet another casting machine or porcelain press. They have recognized that investing into digital means investing into a relationship that accompanies the transition of an entire business from analog to digital. It goes well beyond the life-cycle of any individual product and Sirona has proven the fact that it has the vision, the will and the capability to accompany this transition. And as we at Sirona are not exempt from reinventing ourselves in order to continue to drive and leverage the opportunities that present themselves, Sirona will continue as Dentsply Sirona to deliver the innovation and business opportunities that our laboratories are used to and expect from us.

Understanding Sirona's game-changing solutions for the digital world

	How can labs navigate the new reality of the digital workflow? And how are manufacturers helping through education and new innovations? These are the questions that sit behind many of Ivoclar Vivadent's recent product and equipment announcements. We recently spoke to Sarah Anders, COO of Ivoclar Vivadent North America, about some of the new options from the company, how e.max continues to adapt to a changing market and why restorations deserve the "human touch."

Ivoclar Vivadent has announced some big new digital products this year. How does that fit in with the current priorities at Ivoclar? 

	Our mission is to be the leader in materials and processes for quality esthetic dentistry. Material performance is often directly related to how that material is processed. For example, when we launched IPS Empress and then IPS e.max, we offered a Programat Pressing furnace that was ideally coordinated with the material. Similarly, as digital technologies evolve it is important to recognize that this equipment can impact the material performance. That is why we have a comprehensive protocol to validate new technologies with our materials.  

Some labs are worried that hand-made will soon be replaced by all machine. Do you see that happening in the lab?

, “Being Digital” is the combination of human artistry and automated production-creating optimal results for quality esthetic dentistry. Yes, machines can help productivity and consistency but we must never lose sight of the fact that we are replacing a patient’s anatomy and this deserves the human touch. 

How is Ivoclar Vivadent helping to transition labs from traditional to digital? 

	It’s all about listening to the customers’ needs as they transition from traditional analog production to the digital workflow. We support both options so that labs can choose based on their needs. For us, the key is information and support. We offer an introduction to new technologies through local events and educate at basic training courses. When we deliver new equipment, we utilize white glove delivery service and have our Digital Specialist facilitate the installation. We offer comprehensive equipment and software support and offer back-up milling. We strive to facilitate a smooth transition to our digital technologies. 

What kind of products have you recently released to help with this transition? 

	We look at the full digital workflow from equipment to materials to maximize results. Take the 

Milling Machine, for example. It is the most efficient and productive validated mill for e.max for the laboratory. We offer 

 for Zenotec at a volume pricing that makes sense for our laboratory customers.  We also continue to evolve our e.max offering and are excited to announce the launch of IPS e.max MT for Zenotec. We are also releasing 

, a high translucency zirconia where the translucency is coordinated with e.max translucencies. This offers our laboratory customers a high translucency zirconia that can achieve the most popular vita shades with optimal esthetics. To further optimize digital materials, we are releasing IPS e.max Ceram Power Dentin powder. These are layering ceramics ideally coordinated with both the higher translucency e.max blocks and ingots as well as zirconia materials like Zenostar. The convenience of one highly esthetic layering ceramic for zirconia and IPS e.max helps drive efficiencies in the laboratory.

What makes the new Zenostar options make sense for labs who are going digital? 

	Our newly released Zenostar MT zirconia is formulated from specifically blended powders that balance the optical properties. Adding Zenostar MT to our full Zenostar range allows the laboratory a range of ceramics with highly esthetic optical properties. We will continue to expand our zirconia offerings to meet the needs of our laboratory customers.

How will e.max continue to adapt to a digital workflow? 

 has continued to adapt to the market needs and customer requests. This ever-evolving material has grown in translucencies and expanded indications. This includes the availability of a bridge block and a block for fabricating custom designed implant abutments. Further, our Digital Press Design offers the option for laboratories to fabricate wax patterns coordinated with the state-of-the-art 

How can labs make sure they’re still getting great esthetics with a digital workflow? 

	Labs should look for the ideal digital workflow with equipment, materials and accessory products. Optimal esthetics is born from a consistent workflow with well-coordinated products. We believe that 

’s strong product offerings-with IPS e.max, Zenostar and Zenotec equipment-offer this. Further this is coupled with ongoing education programs, support and dentist and patient marketing materials.

How do you think Ivoclar Vivadent’s digital products and materials better position labs than other options on the market? 

	We have always strived to partner with laboratories to help them grow their business for the long term by providing value-added products and support. The Esthetic Revolution with Empress changed dentistry and drove prescriptions from the dentist. e.max delivered the same prescription-driving branding and gave labs the first profitable monolithic metal free option to compete with offshore production and bilayered restorations. Today, four out of five dentists prescribe e.max. They choose e.max because it matters and, with over 100 million restorations worldwide, e.max offers digital fabrication options with proven success. Is it really worth the risk to try anything else?

What does Ivoclar Vivadent have on the horizon that labs should be excited about? 

	Our Clinical team drives e.max prescriptions and the coordinated clinical materials on every call. This is another way we work to grow the lab’s business. We continue to optimize our product portfolio on the fixed side with e.max and Zenostar high translucent options. We also previewed our Digital Denture in Chicago. It’s a digital denture solution that will efficiently link clinical prescriptions with optimized digital denture production. We are excited about the future that is ahead as we strive to create new materials for new technologies.

	As an organization we are committed to adding value to the laboratory market place. Laboratories feel the pressure of a “commoditized market.” We are going to add value to the laboratory market. Everyday labs restore a patients’ smile, their health and their lifestyles. There is tremendous value in this. All too often, we hear that a material is selected because it’s “good enough.” We believe that being better is always best. Today, consumers are more aware than ever of what options they have and when given the option, patients choose e.max.

Why “Being Digital” is the combination of human artistry and automated production

	CAPZilla is a software solution designed to help the dental laboratory manage CAD/CAM cases from beginning to end. Developed initially for internal use at Custom Automated Prosthetics (CAP), a Massachusetts company offering dental laboratories outsourcing services along with equipment and support, CAPZilla began to attract attention from CAP’s customers.

	The software was originally created to smooth out issues with managing digital files that could come from a variety of digital sources, and to help reduce CAD/CAM operational costs and training needs. After numerous requests, 

 decided to open the software to its lab customers. CAPZilla manages cases that come into a lab, and also seamlessly helps streamline the digital workflow by connecting scanning software with milling software.

Product roundup: Lab and case management software

 has begun releasing modules to make CAPZilla functional for every size and type of dental lab. The first of the modules, CAPZilla OptiCAM, was recently released, and is designed to optimize the digital workflow from design to milling, and to help manage milling materials. More modules are expected in the coming months.

	WE recently spoke with one dental technician to find out how CAPZilla has improved his CAD/CAM workflow and has helped his lab. Here's what he told us:

 is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A full service lab, IDA has about 40 employees and serves more than 100 clients in a variety of services, including full-service crowns, bridges, partials and much more. IDA is one of the largest implant labs in the country, and Marcus Faust, CDT, serves as their implant services specialist. IDA also offers cutting-edge services like digital dentures, and the lab also features a fully digital department that specializes in CAD/CAM implants, even offering their dental clients intraoral scanners to help push a fully digital workflow.

	With a lab that services as many clients as IDA, its various departments are always looking for a way to accomplish their work more efficiently and cost effectively. One of its largest areas of operation is in the implants division, which heavily utilizes digital workflows and CAD/CAM tools. Faust, the implant services specialist at IDA, recently worked with the lab to switch their case management system over to CAPZilla with the new OptiCAM software module. 

	“We were using another CAM software,” Faust remembers. “It was good software, but we just outgrew its capabilities. We found, as we got bigger, file management became more and more difficult.” So Faust began looking for another solution. He found it via their partnership with CAP, who he had been using as his partner for 3Shape scanning.

	“My first introduction to CAP was 3Shape tech support,” Faust says. “They would help manage technical needs with our 3Shape system. I found their support to be really good with 3Shape, so when it became possible to move milling support to them as well, to have the full CAD/CAM system under the same roof, that seemed like a no brainer. 

	“They told me about the milling software and how CAPZilla provided a digital bridge between 3Shape’s CAD aspect and a CAM software. It sounded really interesting to me-I got excited for what they were telling me and decided to purchase it.”

Next page: Getting trained and reducing computer time.

	However, Faust’s initial experience wasn’t all perfect-because of the timing of his order, he received the CAM software about a week before the CAPZilla software came. “To be honest, I wasn’t that impressed with the CAM software at first!” he remembers, laughing. “But it was also right around Christmas, so shipping was at strange times, and I knew CAPZilla would be coming in a week along with the training. So I decided to hold off until then-and I’m glad I did. Once CAPZilla arrived and we installed it, I trained on it and was very impressed with the whole thing. CAP trained me on it via phone, and I spent a couple of days using it. I was already familiar with the basic CAD/CAM workflow, but it was still really useful for me-for a new user, I would definitely recommend CAP as a partner, as their training seems to be nice and fluid.”

Virtual inventory tracking and integration with the CAP store enable labs to set target inventory levels of key materials, provides a direct link to purchase materials, and deducts pucks from virtual inventory as they're used.

	For a lab like IDA, where it’s important to move its many clients through a quick workflow, file management in the digital environment is a vital quality of any case management software. For Faust, that’s where CAPZilla shines. “Between 3Shape and the milling software, CAPZilla bridges the gap between the finished design in 3Shape and the nesting process,” he says. “I can now nest a group of zirconia restorations in a certain shade group and do those in a batch. With CAPZilla, that’s all done for me.”

	This nearly automatic process stands in stark contrast to Faust’s previous workflow, in which he had to do CAD and CAM adjustments with a lot of file management. “Previously, it was all standalone,” Faust notes. “I had to do a lot of in between file management. I would create the CAM file with 3Shape, and then have to find the file in the directory, physically copy it to another folder, then go in and find those files, manually input them into the CAM software, manipulate the file to add sprues, figure out necessary tool paths, and then, finally calculate. CAPZilla got rid of about 90 percent of that work. I don’t ever want to go back.”

	And of course, Faust is most happy to save what every dental technician wants most: Time. “[CAPZilla has] cut the amount of time I have to mess with my CAM software,” he says, “and the amount of time I spend sitting in front of a computer or in front of the mill. I spend less time messing with cases trying to mill, and less time nesting moving files around. CAPZilla does it all for you. It [the CAD software] places in sprues; the only thing left at that point is to push the calculation button.”

	Since converting his CAD/CAM workflow, Faust has also kept up with steady upgrades to ensure he continues to work efficiently. “I don’t generally think it’s good to update dental software as soon updates come out,” he says. “But companies [like CAP] are really good at getting updates first and then they let you know when [the updates have] been proven and validated. It’s really nice. 

Tools such as the AG shrinkage value conversion tool are fully integrated and accessible when you need them the most.

	“CAP is on the ball with their tech support,” he continues. “It’s the best company I’ve worked with for digital needs, and I’ve been doing CAD/CAM work full-time for five years. I’ve been really impressed with CAPZilla. I give a lot of credit to CAP’s tech support guys, both at their Clearwater and Boston offices. They’re really knowledgeable about 3Shape, milling, my role in milling, CAM software and more. I’ve only had this software for a couple of months, and already, it’s been great.” 

Smoothing out CAD/CAM with software

	Implantology is increasingly a huge growth area within dentistry. As labs become more involved in the implant workflow, it’s increasingly important for technicians to keep up-to-date with the latest in implant trends, from abutments to restorative solutions.

One avenue that some labs take is to work with an outsourcing partner for some or all of the implant workflow.

	There are two approaches for our partners. Some labs have begun to integrate digital technology into their workflow. They have scanners, the ability to design their own restorations and even some milling capability. Under this scenario, the lab will electronically send their completed designs to Core3dcenters for quality fabrication. Once milled, we ship the product to the laboratory unfinished-this is important to note, we always keep the laboratory in the loop. The laboratory is then able to finish the product with its own personal touches.

	Under the second option; if a laboratory has made the decision to avoid the digital arena, but would still like to provide their doctors with all the latest options, Core3dcentres can receive the models, scan, design and manufacture on their behalf. We use the “top down approach,” which means we design the full contour first, then we design our abutments within the space created. Then we take esthetics into account. Next, we take esthetics into account, with a full palette of shades available for a seamless transition between zirconia abutment and crowns. Customized height, width, margin and angulation can all be specified. Even large full arch or full mouth reconstruction cases can be fabricated. We also offer a Titanium Base for individual milled hybrid Zirconia/Titanium abutments (this includes a screw) which allows metal-to-metal connection between screw and abutment to help prevent fracturing.

	In Chicago, 3M will showcase resources and tools around the crown and bridge procedure reportedly to help labs and dentists achieve better outcomes with 3M™ Science. On display will be 3M™ ESPE™ Lava™ Plus high-translucency zirconia, which is available in open 98 mm disc format with a patented shading system designed specifically for Lava Plus and the 3M™ True Definition Scanner and said to showcase the scanner’s accuracy, small wand and affordable price tag starting at just $15,995. 3M also celebrates the 15-year anniversary of Lava™ Zirconia. 	3Shape creates 3D scanning and CAD/CAM software solutions, producing technology that is said to enable dental professionals to treat more people more effectively and with improved care. In Chicago, you can see 3Shape’s latest lab scanner and software, the D2000 and Dental System, and its digital color impression solution, TRIOS®. 3Shape’s solutions are designed to help dental laboratories drive productivity, offer new materials and create more efficient and consistent workflows.

	Aesthetic Press will present a new line of high translucent, full zirconia in light, dark and dark plus along with its main APValue-based coloring system for the Aesthetic Press and APVolution porcelains. It also recently introduced Horico burs to its product line. Made in Germany, these burs offer a full range of carbide, diamond and CAD/CAM milling burs. Both new products complement the APVanilla wax blank and were voted “Game Changer of the Year” by IDT Navigator. Additionally, Jörg Müller, MDT, founder and president of Aesthetic Press, will host a presentation in the BEGO seminar room on Saturday, Feb. 27.

	Amann Girrbach will showcase its Ceramill FDS (full-denture system), which is said to be the first CAD/CAM-based workflow in dental technology that makes possible the entire in-house fabrication process for full dentures up to the wax try-in stage. Another new product Amann Girrbach will display is the Ceramill Map 200, a compact, quick and inexpensive CAD/CAM scanner that provides a wide range of functions. In addition, the company has launched two new sinter ovens, the Ceramill Therm III and the Argotherm 2. Visitors can also see the various Ceramill blank holders, including the new 98 mm size, which allows users to mill a wide variety of materials in multiple sizes and shapes. 

	Argen recently brought to market new digital solutions, such as ArgenZ Anterior shaded super translucent zirconia and ArgenIS custom abutments. ArgenZ Anterior shaded zirconia is available in six value-base shades plus white, reportedly offering the benefits of preshaded discs coupled with a 25 percent increased translucency over HT zirconia and strength of 765 MPa. The increased vitality and translucency is said to make ArgenZ Anterior a great alternative to lithium disilicate. ArgenIS custom abutments offer labs five-axis precision-milled custom abutments compatible with the leading implant systems and available in full titanium (retention lines or gold-shading optional) and screw-retained, zirconia-hybrid, full contour zirconia-hybrid and SLM CoCr-hybrid. 	Aurident’s Delta Milling Center is set up to provide laboratories with a complete implant solution regardless of the type of implant and the level of the laboratory. The Delta Milling Center will fabricate fully finished screw-retained titanium and hybrid abutments from models or STL files within three to four days. Screw-retained or snap-on implant bars can also be designed and fabricated with Delta Milling Center’s five-axis milling machines. Upon request, the Delta Milling Center designers will work directly with laboratories to assure the most accurate and best-fitting custom implants available.  The Delta Milling Center exclusively uses FDA-approved Delta zirconia or BruxZir® zirconia for the fabrication of copings or full-contour restorations. As an additional incentive, the Delta Milling Center recently reduced the cost of custom implants.  

	AvaDent will showcase a full suite of AvaDent digital denture products from a milled base plate ready for traditional wax-up to a fully milled monolithic denture and a hybrid prosthesis on implants. There are said to be no limitations for this CAE technology that reportedly brings a paradigm shift to the removables industry. The newest developments from AvaDent are the lab-insourcing products and the one digital workflow for digital dentures on bars.

	Constructed utilizing the technology found in “full-frame” CNC industrial machines, the Versamill 5X-200 and 5XS milling machines are designed to perform reliably with high precision for the long term. Versamill includes features like five-axis control, a cast aluminum-alloy frame, a 3 Kw spindle, large-diameter preloaded ball screws, heavy-duty linear guideways, zero stack tolerance rotary axes and more, said to enable you to quickly manufacture restorations with perfect fits and razor-sharp margins with the minimum of post-machining hand work.

	The BEGO VARSEO 3D Printer is engineered to dynamically complete the lab digital workflow. Positioned to be priced significantly less than other printers, VARSEO is reportedly simple to operate, has eight printing solutions (including models, wax, bite splints and guides), demonstrates high accuracy and features 30-second material/job change times. When coupled with the full complement of BEGO digital and analog products (ranging from the Nautilus CC + casting machines, equipment, investment, hydrocolloid, lab scanners, software, CAD/CAM products, SLM frameworks and FDA 510k-approved custom implant abutments), BEGO has plenty to see at LMT Lab Day® Chicago.

	The Dialite Feather Lite polishing system from Brasseler USA consists of diamond-impregnated, polyeurathane, multi-use polishers with flexible spirals designed to separate and “feather” out all crown and bridge restorations. This feathering reportedly helps maintain surface differentiation when polishing porcelain restorations, allowing the instrument to quickly adapt to any surface, including occlusal, interproximal and contact areas. Available in a 26 mm extraoral head size and a 14 mm intraoral head size, both designs are offered in coarse, medium and fine grits. Dialite Feather Lite polishers are engineered to save time as users quickly polish any ceramic restorations, including IPS e.max® and zirconia.

	CAP Multi translucent discs consist of three layers that are blended for transition through the disc for transitions in translucency, hue, chroma and value with layering from bottom to top. This advancement in varied translucency reportedly delivers the most lifelike full-contour zirconia restoration ever developed. The product will initially be available in four preshaded colors with an additional four colors slated for launch later in 2016.

	The new full-HD 3D color feature of the CS 3500 intraoral scanner from Carestream Dental is designed to provide enhanced 3D images in stunning high definition. The vivid colors and detailed texture reportedly offered by this latest update to the scanner’s CS Acquisition software are said to improve communication between practices and labs by providing a realistic view, incredibly close to what the doctor sees, of a patient’s mouth. Additionally, the enhanced image quality offered by the full-HD 3D feature enables automatic margin line detection; clearly marked margin lines improve precision, which can reduce remakes. Carestream Dental’s 3D HD imaging is available with all three of the scanner’s CS Acquisition software’s workflows: restorative, orthodontic and implant.

	The secret of a good modelling wax lies in the recipe. Cavex is said to carefully combine paraffin, microwaxes, natural wax and pigments to ensure the melting points are never too far apart, thus ensuring an even and predictable melting and curing. Cavex offers a choice of soft, regular, hard and extra hard. The procedure is the same, but the melting point and the final hardness differ. The wax plates are of ample size and usually sufficient for two prostheses.

	MillBox is the new dental CAM solution from CIMsystem developed for milling any variation of CAD/CAM material. Said to innovate CAM with its guided workflow and technician-friendly user interface, MillBox reportedly simplifies the nesting process and expedites toolpath creation so lab technicians can focus on more important tasks.
