CDA Presents The Art and Science of Dentistry Opens Thursday

Distinguished cosmetic dentist Ross Nash, DDS, FAACD, is partnering with one of New Jersey’s top cosmetic dentists, Anthony Vocaturo, DDS, AAACD, to present the comprehensive 2-day, hands-on program “Full Mouth Reconstruction: High-Tech, High-Touch,” this summer.

The 16 CEU course will be held at the Institute of Advanced Dental Education (IADE) located in Colts Neck, New Jersey on July 19-20. The IADE was recently designated as an authorized Nash Institute Affiliate and as such, will serve as the Nash Institute’s New Jersey Campus.

“I’m very pleased to officially announce that the IADE is now a Nash Institute Affiliate, and I’m looking forward to co-presenting this brand-new program with Dr Vocaturo and an A-team of instructors,” says Dr Nash in a press release.

Dr Vocaturo, the founder and executive director of the IADE and the owner of NJ Smile Center, adds, “I’m honored to be partnering with my long-time mentor Dr Ross Nash in establishing the IADE as a Nash Institute Affiliate and excited to be co-presenting with him for the first time in New Jersey. During this comprehensive and interactive program, participants will review the latest concepts of occlusion and smile design as they apply to full mouth reconstruction cases. Ultradent has announced its acquisition of Ease-In-Shields (ViewMax Solutions, LLC), in a press release from the company. This acquisition is set to bolster Ultradent’s catalogue, as Ease-In-Shield are designed to protect the clinician’s eyes from laser and curing lights, per the press release.

“After years of working with ViewMax Solutions, LLC, we’re pleased to announce the acquisition of their product, Ease-In-Shields,” VP of Business Development at Ultradent, Scot Andersen said in the press release. “We’re excited to continue working in conjunction with the founders to promote Ease-In-Shields more broadly in the dental space.”

Ease-In-Shield is a shield placed over the loupes and eyewear, acting as a literal shield against eye-harming lights and lasers. They are crafted with a patented formula and polycarbonate material to keep them both light to wear while maintaining durability. There are a variety of sizes to suit any clinician, and they are also reportedly easy to remove and clean.

In a partnership with the International Federation of Dental Hygienists (IFDH), Sunstar has officially crowned the winners of the World Dental Hygienist Awards. This is the program’s 6th year, and it was formed to recognize dental hygiene leaders across the world, according to a press release from the company.

Sunstar Foundation President Mayumi Kaneda congratulated the winners in the press release, expressing excitement over the upcoming celebration in Seoul, South Korea.

“First of all, we want to congratulate all the winners! We are extremely proud to see your work and impressive contributions to the profession,” Kaneda said in the press release. “We look forward to celebrating together at the International Symposium of Dental Hygiene in Seoul.”

2024’s winners include: Federica D’Anteo for Public Health, Thérèse Elkerbout for Research, Juhwa Lee for Entrepreneurship, Lorella Mengarelli for Full Time Clinician, Brittany Glauz for New RDH, and Gianna Maria Nardi for Academia. A committee of independent dental hygienists judged the nominees while also taking into account their personal 1-minute videos submitted on the company’s YouTube channel.

These winners will be honored at the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene, as mentioned in the press release by Kaneda, which will take place on July 12, 2024. Each winner will receive a trophy, $1500, and the all-expense paid trip to the Symposium.
